4 College Freshman

Administration: Administration tends to be pretty helpful from my experiences. Frankly, I rarely have complaints about school so administration doesn't play a huge role. Fundraising for organizations is a pain in the ***

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: Not like there aren't parties. But they are pretty mild. The worst that ever happens at a party that gets out of control is shorts shorts and grinding

1 College Freshman

Athletics: There are no varsity sports. Only intramural. We all pay attention to BYU Provo instead. I think they got rid of varsity sports to decrease rivalry between us and BYU provo

College Freshman

Greek Life: There is no Greek Life. There is virtually no drinking either

Off-Campus Housing: Dorms can be amazing! For 1600 I am living in a dorm with study rooms, rec rooms, huge living rooms, and in-dorm washing machines. These are the nicest dorms on Campus. Some of the best in the country, I imagine.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: I have yet to meet a Greek on the BYUI campus. i just don't know of any.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of housing options for every budget. All of the housing is subsidized by the school. There are different kinds of housing depending on what you like. I do not recommend Heritage housing however, it's much smaller than everything else.

Off-Campus Dining: There are some good burger places, but most of the people I know eat at home or order pizza occasionally.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
