Campus Food: Food is always great! However, it is a bit pricey.

Campus Housing: Living on campus has its perks and its negatives. It's a lot of fun and housing includes a lot of great amenities that are hard to find elsewhere.

Campus Food: Some places are really good. Like the Caliente mexican place but its kind of pricey

Campus Housing: It's kind of old but its really cheap. I could live for a semester or 2 but not after that.

Off-Campus Dining: Rexburg, Idaho is not commercially large. The school is what keeps it alive. However because of the school, the community it is growing very fast and many new restaurants and stores are opening and will open in the near future.

Guys & Girls: Many would be surprised to find out that there are quite a few very good looking individuals that go to this school. I am aware that the school itself has been listed high on many other sites for generally having a very attractive student body. The honor code insures that men and women are following strict grooming standards that really showcase the good looking people here.

Administration: The atmosphere at BYU Idaho is a lot more exciting then I thought it would be! The campus is a lot more beautiful then I thought it would be. Rexburg, Idaho does not have really have anything commercially fun to do but the students here find unique ways to have fun and still maintain the schools honor code. I enjoyed my first semester there and look forward to future semesters.

Party Scene: The parties we do have are fun, like i-night is awesome!!!!!

Campus Quality: I love the campus, frankly. There are plenty of places to study (because I swear a large portion of the kids don't study) and the whole campus is pretty. The technology in terms of research having high tech equipment in labs (I'm an electrical engineer) kinda sucks frankly. There is almost no research (though I believe there is a small pre-med group doing some research, but usually no research). I find myself at ease being on Campus. Everyone is sweet. There is food (which isn't great but it's not bad either!)

Overall Experience: I think if being in an LDS environment is most important, and having lots of nice people (the people are SUPER nice) then this school is perfect. I think otherwise you might get a better education elsewhere frankly. I'm currently en-route to transfer.

Local Area: I don't like it here. The events around campus are good but just outside it is dull. There aren't too many parties, there isn't too much to do (there is some), and worst of all, everything goes out of business after a few years it feels like.

Health & Safety: This place has one of the lowest murder rates in the country. Frankly, you can't get much safer than here.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I like it a lot. It isn't terrific but it's better than a lot of off-campus food that is near-by. Plus it's somewhat diverse (somewhat) and some of the more unique options include the rice bowl or the crepe corner. It's generic. Some of it is terrible (sushi or pizza or asian food) and some it is great (rice bowl, crepe corner).

Off-Campus Dining: I hate off-campus. The best food is only OK. There are a few restaurants that I like off-campus but they are chains. Non-chains are almost always bad (or there okay but you can find better elsewhere). I hate sammy's. I hate New Fongs. Da Pineapple Grill is OK. New York Burrito is OK. The point is, every non-chain is at best, OK.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
