5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I never looked up any of my professors on ratemyprofessor, but all of my professors were great. My classes were small enough, I knew most everyones names and my professor knew my name.

Overall Experience: I have not looked deeply into this yet because I am still a freshman, but I did attend the career fair and it was great.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I say the Greek life at my school is okay, but we actually do not have any Greek life, so I am indifferent towards it.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Before I got to my school I knew there were no varsity sports, so I was kind-of bummed, but it turned out that the intramural sports are super fun. I played dodge-ball, basketball, and volleyball.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I rate my school the best because I have learned so much and grown so much as a person. Everyone is very friendly, it's so easy to make friends, even with the professors. One evening my English professor actually played basketball with me and some other students.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I always feel very safe on campus. I haven't heard of any cases of sexual assault.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The teachers are very professional and know how to make us feel comfortable.

Overall Experience: The school is very helpful with internships and knows how to get them for every student.

Campus Housing: It's a little old but for the price it is really nice.

Greek Life: We don't have it so it isn't a big deal to me or anyone else.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I wish that we actually had teams but when used for fun it is great.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It creates new learning experiences and so many ways to meet people.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: About 99% of our student body is LDS, and we don't believe in doing that kind of stuff. If we were to, we would be suspended anyways.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I haven't been anywhere that has been better than here. I have a disability and I am taken care of and I am in love with the campus. The teachers here show that they care for their students and are always willing to give advice when we need it.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I put great, not because I don't think it is awesome, but because professors say that many people who hire students from here are simply too honest and kind to others and need to be a little bit more caring about themselves when it comes to finding work or volunteer/internship positions

Campus Housing: The buildings here are amazing. There is a buildings called the I-center and it is one of the biggest conference centers in the world and it is a wonderful experience to listen to people speak every Tuesday there! The older housing is kind of well, old, but the brand new housing, which I live in is wonderful, spacious, and has amazing perks.

Overall Experience: I was freaking out about college and I have only been in college for about 2 months and it's amazing here! There is a spirit of helping each other learn here, rather than a competition to see who learns better. Housing is wonderful, teachers are great, and I am absolutely excited to continue college here!

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The fact my campus is not the main campus of all the BYU campuses I that they have just given us the bare minimum to get by.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe and secure when on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The teachers and students are very friendly, personable, and knowledgable. I am grateful for my experience here.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have not done any research

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The on campus housing is not the greatest but the approved housing places are great!

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The sporting facilities are great, but I wish we had varsity teams that played against other schools.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love the environment and the education that can be found at BYU-Idaho. The teachers are very personal and helpful. I just wish that BYUI had master programs.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I do not have my health care insurance here on campus because I am still with my families plan, however I know that our Student Health Center here on campus is a quick and easy way for students to receive the health care they need and also an easy way for students wishing to pursue health care to get experience. The crime here on campus is an all time minimum. I feel completely safe leaving my back pack (with my books and laptop) at any work/study area and leaving the room and coming back to it still being there.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
