Campus Food: We have a good variety on campus with a pretty good dining hall. There are also a decent amount of local stores for students to eat at.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I am involved with the Student Support organization. It is a great way to serve others and come closer to Christ at the same time.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: Rexburg is super tiny, but there are tons of things to do all over campus and the town surrounding it.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Every teacher I have met is absolutely fantastic! They all know what a quality education is.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I just declared my major so I haven't gotten to far into it yet, but the workload is not terrible, and you get a lot of real-life experience.

Campus Housing: The dorms are fantastic! Most of them have their own kitchens and they are all at least two bedrooms, it's really a lot more like living in an apartment than it is like living in dorms (I've stayed in other college dorms, and they DON'T compare).

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: The nightlife is good and clean! I love that I can go out and do things without worrying too much about the influences that will be around me. Granted, everything starts shutting down around 11:30 on weeknights, but that doesn't mean that good, clean fun isn't available.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs are prohibited from use at this school. Use will get you suspended. Not widely used even with the people who live in Rexburg.

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of housing for singles, but not very much for married. Need to be able to get around if you are married. Single housing is located right next to campus and the grocery stores.

Scholarships: If you need a scholarship, you'll get one. The application process is really easy, just a short form to fill out and they use that with your FAFSA to determine what scholarships to give you. I got a decent amount. Then you just have to make sure you take enough credits to receive the money and send in a thank you letter for the donors.

Party Scene: It depends what you're looking for. BYU-I is an Honor Code school, so naturally it doesn't have booze parties and drunken sorority places to hit up. In fact, Rexburg basically shuts down after 11 p.m. to satiate the curfew in place. However, Sammy's and Scoops are some great party places. Sammy's host actual parties with D.J.'s, dancing, and great neon light shows in their basement, or they rent out other places to show their customers a good time. Usually, the entry price is a measly 3 dollars or so. Scoops isn't as big or as crazy-awesome--yet. My guess, with their big space, new basketball hoops, newly installed wii, and cheap delicious icecream, they'll be the new "cool stop" soon enough. Plus, they're almost right next to Little Ceaser's! Perfect location, and a quick jaunt form the dollar theatre.

Parking: If you have the Fall Spring track, you'd probably give this a higher grade, so I chose a C+. As for those of us who have Winter Semester in our Track, we endure some of the hardest weather the United States has to offer. Snow storms, hail, crazy strong wind that sheers straight through your clothes--it's all there. And BYU-I absolutely never cancels for whether, unless it's so cold it's dangerous to go outdoors. Or something in the heating system breaks down, which it can, and in which case it's too cold to go into the buildings. However, these events are rare.

Still, all is not lost! The rest of the warmer months are beautiful, sunny, warm, and happy months in Idaho! And even the awful winter months can be nice; it gives you an excuse to cosy down and drink some hot chocolate in a pair of cute mittens and a new, great scarf,

Transportation: The problem with this question is this is a walking campus. You can get to everything on campus, and nearly everything important in Rexburg, with leg power and time. For those of us who want to save on gas or have no car, this is heaven. But for those who live farther from campus, this complicates matters. There are little to no transportation methods, but don't worry! If you're at the Ivy, they have a spectacular little bus with a schedule that can take you to campus, to Wal-mart, or to other several stops. If not, you may get lucky and a nice LDS member will stop for you and offer a ride home.

Academics: All of my teachers have been excellent, and I have been impressed by BYU-I's EWnglish staff and programs available for English majors. I wish that there was a little more Q&A available for those in the English program, so the many questions and possibilities for English lovers could be answered, by time is hard to come by, so I understand. My teachers are fantastic, but there is little networking to be done with them, or so I have found. Still, honest and thoughtful professors whose lessons are always worth attending. Great job, BYU-I!

Guys & Girls: All the students are very well-mannered, dress modestly and treat each other respectfully. There are a variety of personalities to fit anyone.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: THis school is very clean and the pressure is nonexistent You can do what you want but there are consequences.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The teachers are helpful and have the student's best interest at hand.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I have been very satisfied from the academics so far here at school.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug safety at BYU-Idaho is Excellent! At BYU-Idaho we have a very religious college that prides its self in having a zero tolerance for such behavior as drug use.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: a wide range of guys and girls from all over the U.S and around the world.

5 College Student

Academics: BYU-Idaho has challenged me more than I could have even imagined. The teachers are great, and having three full semesters in a year can really help you graduate sooner.

5 College Student

Academics: I've learned things at a quicker than ever before!

5 College Student

Weather: Really cold in the winter, but you get used to it!

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are a lot of fun outdoor activities and on campus activities. However to get to most places on your own you have to have a car and there is no public transportation like buses or anything.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
