3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I really appreciate the professors, but some of the courses seem pointless. Some of the General Ed classes are very basic (I felt like I learned those things in High School).

Health & Safety: Campus security Is always around (usually just catching people breaking curfew or skateboarding or something along those lines) and there are many security phones for emergencies. Last semester there was a very vague, non specific threat posted on an anonymous social media site, and the school had tracked down the student by the end of the day and there was lots of security all over campus making sure everything was okay. There Is a very safe environment here on campus

Campus Housing: There is a strong social stigma of only early freshman live at the dorms. They are also more expensive than other off campus housing options. It was fairly easy application process. The rules are enforced a bit too strictly for my taste

Overall Experience: The teachers are generally very good and really care about the students and their success. They are willing to make an extra effort to help the students in any way they can. However, I get frustrated (and I know several others do) with the extremely strict rules.

Athletics: There are no intercollegiate sports offered at my school. There is, however, a very nice equipment room for weightlifting and exercising and there are many intramural sports and clubs offered at little to no cost to students.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Really safe! People can walk home alone at night and nothing happens, but I still would not recommend that in general.

Overall Experience: The teachers are great and really care about the students.

Overall Experience: Great school! Worth it in every way

Overall Experience: The professors here are amazing! They help you when you don't understand the course material, and they make sure to help you in any way possible. They also make good use of their TA and tutor so that their students get as much help as they need.

Overall Experience: The school has a lot of opportunities to look at career fairs, internship fairs, etc. They also bring in a lot of speakers to talk to students about career and internship opportunities.

Health & Safety: There's rarely any crime on campus. There are small emergency towers all over campus that a student can go to and push the button if there's an emergency. A lot of people are very friendly, and they look out for one another.

Overall Experience: It really is a great campus. I love the teachers and I love the environment. The cold is a problem but it is only a minor problem.

Health & Safety: This campus is the safest place I have been in a long time. I lost my wallet the first day of school and someone returned it within the hour.

Campus Housing: It is fine for now. My room is kind of small but I only go there to sleep so it is manageable.

Athletics: The school does not have any varsity sports here at BYU-Idaho which is fine but I think it would be great to see them come back.

Health & Safety: I have never heard of any safety or security problems on campus. It is a safe school, and I don't think anyone is at risk. Only those who seeks sexual activities can find them. And that isn't easy to do.

Overall Experience: I have learned so much in my courses here. The Professors have been kind and very knowledgeable. They would take the entire class answering questions if they needed to. I have enjoyed going here and look forward to continuing to attend.

BYU-Idaho professors and other students take a lot of interest in students personally, to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their overall well-being. They care about how you do in classes, what you have to contribute to the school, and what you're doing besides school to enhance your lifelong learning. The BYU-I experience really becomes what the students make it. Students who just study to get by learn to do the bare minimum with the least amount of effort, and students who want to make the most of their education and learn and grow from being a student work longer and harder in a variety of pursuits that span beyond academics.

It may be hard to believe that there are so many opportunities to develop skills in a given area from attending a little school in Rexburg, Idaho. But just as BYU-Idaho takes huge steps in innovating learning and maximizing resources, students learn to be innovative hard-workers who know how to problem-solve and communicate effectively. Most students who realize the potential they have in being admitted to this school and who take advantage of the opportunities offered here quickly learn how to make their BYU-Idaho experience worthwhile.
