Drug Safety: There is no drug usage on the campus. We do not have to worry about it.

Overall Experience: Classes are hard to get into because of class size. Classes are not offered every semester and makes it hard on scheduling.

Campus Housing: It is great being so close to class, It is not set up to spend a lot of time there because it has no living area. It is a bedroom with a bathroom and no living area. There is not even a common area to socialize in.

Athletics: The athletic program is going away so it is not a great program. The area that BYU Hawaii is located is remote and not a lot of people attend athletic games. It is reliant on the student body and does not get a lot of support.

Overall Experience: It is a great location and atmosphere. Scheduling classes is difficult and they do not offer some classes every semester. Making your schedule work is difficult.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports aren't a huge part of university life here at BYU-Hawaii. Our school spirit is high and our athletes perform well, but sports are certainly not the most important thing here.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This school is a wonderful place to grow both academically and spiritually. Here, I've been able to develop myself as a person as well as a student. The atmosphere is full of love and light. It is truly a pleasure and a privilege to attend BYU-Hawaii.

Health & Safety: There are some issues with theft, largely I think by local kids in the community, however the campus security is usually pretty good about addressing problems and tracking things down. I haven't heard of any major problems with violence or other serious crimes and security does regular campus patrols, especially at night. I have never felt unsafe walking on campus or in the community.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I can't speak for everyone, but I've really enjoyed the professors and courses in my major at least. The course work is challenging, but not usually overwhelming and the professors demonstrate an enthusiasm for their subjects and a personal interest in the student's success.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I've never used many of the career services but the career center is very active. They host a lot of activities and advertise internship and recruiting opportunities. They also offer one on one counseling sessions to answer student questions and offer personalized success tips depending on the student's situation and interests.

Campus Housing: It depends on which hale you are in. They recently constructed six new ones and are currently reconstructing two more. The old hales are not in the best shape and tend to be a little sketchy, but have large open lounges and tend to have character. The social atmosphere there is much more fun and inviting than in the newer hales although they are cleaner and have much nicer kitchen and bathroom facilities.

3 College Junior

Athletics: There are sports events and they are fun to attend, but it is a small school so they're not super popular.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's not for everyone, but I love it. The location, of course, is beautiful with lots of outdoor activities available, although the town is small and kind of far from any large shopping areas which can sometimes be a drawback. The class sizes are small and the professors know their students and care about helping them succeed. Also the diversity is incredible. You meet and interact with other students from all over the world who share the same values and are working toward a common goal, which creates a uniquely beautiful learning environment. It wasn't originally my first choice, but if I had to do it again, it definitely would be now.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: this is one of the most diverse universities. there are people from over 70 different countries. a lot of them are Polynesian and Asian. everyone is very accepting of other cultures here. Americans are more of a minority here actually, and it pretty cool I think.

4 College Freshman

Academics: choices of majors are limited. classes are small and professors are great. you learn a lot of great stuff. work load isn't bad, and its super chill

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: crime is really low. sometimes things get stolen, that the extent of crime here though.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Professors love teaching, and they really care about the students. classes are small and I learn a lot of things that will be useful in my life outside of college. its a upper chill college. people are friendly, and from all over the world.
