Technology: There simply aren't enough computers! Plus, the printer in the SCC doesn't receive regular maintenance. Tech support here is fabulous, though. But seriously -- there just aren't enough computers. Bring your own... or you're kind of up a creek.

Technology: Who doesn't bring a laptop to college? The wi-fi is pretty great, and the computers available around campus are in pretty great shape.

Technology: The Internet connection is usually pretty strong; however, there have been problems. There are many computers available in the library for any student to use free of charge.

Technology: There are a lot of places someone can work on a computer on campus. Having a lap top is helpful and if you can't afford it, you can check one out at the library or even ask your financial aid counselor for help. The tech support is good (a little pricey when you need parts or a diagnostic that is more complicated than just taking it to the front desk) and the network is great.

Technology: Lab technology is amazing, wifi is fast when it works, quite a few computers around cmapus. prinitng is expensive, bring your own printer

The Brandeis network is awesome. The Brandeis administration has taken no stance on file sharing and has actually made file sharing access easier within the Brandeis network. However, Brandeis has been contacted by the government for its students' excessive illegal dowloading.

The Library and Technology Services (LTS) system is excellent when you need computer or research help. When you first come to Brandeis, LTS will help you set up your computer and your phone, and will even install Norton AntiVirus. Almost everyone has a personal computer here, but while it is very helpful to have your own computer, it is not essential. There are many computers, both Macs and PCs, available at the libraries and in the Shapiro Campus Center. Between classes, people love to stop and check their e-mail, so the computer labs can fill up very quickly then. If you have a laptop and don't want to work in your room, most of the campus is wireless, and authorizing your computer is very easy.
