Some students have complained that housing costs a little too much on campus and that they'd rather invest in an apartment, transportation back and forth from school, and pay bills for less than what the campus charges for room and board. Freshmen are expected to stay on campus during their first year. A majority of the students on campus moves off campus after their freshman year.

From Laurel to Largo, Crofton to Bowie itself, these places are close enough to campus that you should be able to travel to campus in 20 minutes or less. Apartments vary according to the area and who is contracting the apartment. Most amenities are included. Higher-end apartments include all amenities with extra benefits. Simply put, off-campus living is the way to go.
