Academics: The school has a variety of majors so if I ever decide not to major in graphic design anymore, I can fall back on others. I love that possibility!

Campus Housing: If you live in west Campus and you're not a jock or art student you'll have to be good at scheduling

Local Area: Stuff closes here at 10 pm on week days. Good luck with that

Scholarships: It was ok, but I had to contact them a few times to smooth things out

Campus Quality: FitRec (the gym is amazing), eveything is kept tidy and upperclassmen dorms are like living in 5 star hotel.

Administration: They're only strict when necessary. Do what your supposed to and you won't have an issue. Don't skateboard in the dorms, they will take your board for a year

Campus Food: It's pretty good compared to other schools. The chefs pair up with the school of nutrition so it's usually healthy. Best dining hall is 100 Bay State Rd (aka Marciano Commons), GSU is good but expensive, there is late night all over. I recommend Rize Bakery (Basement of 100 Bay State. And as of now Insomnia Cookies delivers until 3 am

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't pesronally lived off campus, but it's much cheaper than on campus and it's pretty okay from what I've heard.

Weather: Boston's weather does what it wants. Be prepared for anything.

Scholarships: I did not receive any financial aid from BU.

Overall Experience: I don't like this school. I am a hard worker and I study, but I expected that there would be at least parties or places for under 21 year olds to go. Instead my friends and I stay in warren or go to Allston looking for a party with no avail. It seems that people just drink in their dorms and a lot of people are unhappy. Coming from New York, Boston is a change. The T is slow and the city is very disorganized. It's also very likely to find people who are very well off here and like to flaunt it.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: It's hard to meet new people. You meet people pretty much the first week and then after that it's hard to make new friends.

Diversity: There is diversity on campus, but a large majority is asian. In addition a large amount of the males on campus are gay, most people are accepting of this.

Campus Housing: You really have to make an effort to be friendly, even when there are a lot of jerks on campus. It's very easy to isolate yourself. The cleanliness in the bathrooms are poor. I live on an all girls' floor and there is blood everywhere. My friend had a mushroom grow in her shower.

Health & Safety: A few years ago there apparently was a large rape, therefore they've very strict and overly informative on what one can do to prevent it.

While BU certainly has its downfalls, most of which are due to the sheer size of the University, there are plenty of opportunities to take full advantage of all that it has to offer. For the resourceful and motivated, a little effort will go a long way. The most important thing is to utilize your professors to your advantage. It is their job to be available to their students, and while some are certainly more attentive than others, students are not turned away by a professor when they have gone looking for opportunities or support.

Keeping busy, being well-organized, and choosing a course of study that truly stimulates your intellectual interests will all be really helpful in having a successful experience at BU. Many students dread graduation day, and therefore, leaving Boston is not something they look forward to. On the flip-side, countless others would argue the opposite perspective. Accept your environment and work with it, as well as against it. Do not stay inside for too long, and do not drink away your college years. Make school a priority, and hang out with your professors (they are the best resource you have). Boston is a huge city with a really large population of young people. If you are looking for a taste of city life, and think that you would be able to establish yourself at a big university in a high-paced atmosphere, it is definitely possible to find your niche here.
