Party Scene: some nights are fun, some are not. better to be 21 here or have a fake because the frat parties get old really quickly.

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: White people have good parties, but if your Black they are kind of hard to find.

Party Scene: You can find parties if you want to party.

Technology: There are definitely computers to use at the libraries, but I wouldn't count on always having one available. Everything else is just about average.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: I live on a floor with Greek girls, Asian girls, Indian girls, and multiple African American and Caucasian girls. And that's only a tiny, tiny fraction of the school. If you're looking for a group of people, you will find them here.

Off-Campus Dining: So many great places to eat. You will never get bored of the food choices.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: You really have to look to find exciting things to do, but there are things. Boston is a fairly quiet city.

2 College Freshman

Weather: I am a Bostonian and I HATE the winter. Fall and spring are beautiful, but winter in brutal.

Majors: It wasn't difficult for me to get into my program. It's fairly easy to transfer between schools within the University.

4 College Freshman

Majors: If you love psychology, this is a fairly easy program. People seem to think psych is very easy and then find out it takes work.

Transportation: BU shuttle (Bus) is okay. Most of the time, I wait for the bus and when it comes, it's full, so I have to walk anyways. However, it is free. The T runs through the entire campus so you can jump on that and it's only $2 for a ride.

Drug Safety: Honestly, I've only partied once since I've gotten here. If you want to party, you can certainly find parties. If you don't, there are plenty of people who don't party either.

Athletics: The sports teams are generally very good. Especially hockey. Hockey seems to draw the most school spirit and fan support. However, the school lacks a football team, so if tailgating and such is something you're into, this school isn't for you.

Majors: I absolutely love my major

Off-Campus Dining: great variety ! The restaurants can be very expensive

5 College Senior

Diversity: BU has a great diverse population. Students embrace diversity and are very open to new ideas.

Scholarships: This school is okay with financial aid, but considering I'm still applying for scholarships, they must not be perfect. Financial Aid is good for covering school costs, but as a student living away from home, in another state there are other things I need to have and financial aid, including work study, doesn't really hep with that.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The campus shuttle is not always the most reliable. But the train runs right through campus and it runs pretty often. There are also a lot of buses and other shuttles going through campus, so it isn't that difficult to get from one place to another.

While BU certainly has its downfalls, most of which are due to the sheer size of the University, there are plenty of opportunities to take full advantage of all that it has to offer. For the resourceful and motivated, a little effort will go a long way. The most important thing is to utilize your professors to your advantage. It is their job to be available to their students, and while some are certainly more attentive than others, students are not turned away by a professor when they have gone looking for opportunities or support.

Keeping busy, being well-organized, and choosing a course of study that truly stimulates your intellectual interests will all be really helpful in having a successful experience at BU. Many students dread graduation day, and therefore, leaving Boston is not something they look forward to. On the flip-side, countless others would argue the opposite perspective. Accept your environment and work with it, as well as against it. Do not stay inside for too long, and do not drink away your college years. Make school a priority, and hang out with your professors (they are the best resource you have). Boston is a huge city with a really large population of young people. If you are looking for a taste of city life, and think that you would be able to establish yourself at a big university in a high-paced atmosphere, it is definitely possible to find your niche here.
