3 College Freshman

Administration: Just be smart. You can do what you want but be safe and keep it private.

3 College Freshman

Administration: If you don't make noise, you generally don't get caught. Noise violations are the most documented; looking even slightly intoxicated will, however, get you written up. Freshman can't have water boilers, which is annoying.

4 College Senior

Administration: As long as you aren't being too crazy they understand what college is; however the problem arises with the seemingly large number of RAs, RDs, and even some BCPD that have a God complex

3 College Sophomore

Administration: It's alright. Not much to say about them. Not great, not bad.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The administration is in a tough spot since the university is catholic. While they can sometimes be lenient, other policies are very outdated.

The BCPD is definitely strict about underage drinking and drug use, so you’ll have to learn the ropes if you ever want to participate in the social scene. However, “work hard, play hard” is an unofficial BC motto, so serious fun certainly can and does occur. The first few months of every semester are always deemed “lock down,” when the PD goes overboard in the strictness department. Usually it tapers off after a couple of weeks, so sit tight and drink quietly in your room. Keep the Beirut tournaments at a less-than-audible level, watch out for RAs, and try not to make any foolish mistakes.

The campus usually maintains a level of strictness not unlike that of a federal penitentiary. (Well, not quite that strict, but you get the picture.) Truthfully, the school recognizes how hard Boston College students work in their academic life and how much the students like to reward themselves for their efforts in their personal lives. BCPD cracks down on drinking as much as they can, but historically, young people will always find a way to “play hard.” You won’t find many BC students running through campus drunk and naked at any hour of the day, but a good party can always be found at some locale during the week. Students who are willing to search for personal enjoyment usually find a just compensation.
