5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: They offer many academics at Bluegrass, from Business Administration to Medicine. Such a variety of majors, very hard to choose from.

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility of my schedule is great. I can attend classes on days that I do not have any other responsibilities and it's great.

Overall Experience: I had a lot of issues with another institution in the past, the staff at Bluegrass are assisting me in getting financial aid and student loans. The other school did not. I would choose this school again.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The class size is about the same size as a high school classroom, it isn't big so professors can engage with their students more often.

Campus Resources: The faculty at staff at Bluegrass Community and Technical College are friendly and helpful, they offer a lot of campus activities for current and future students. It is a remarkable institution.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Bluegrass and Community and Technical College is very reasonably priced and affordable. I haven't had to use or apply for any financial aid. BCTC are even offered the chance to transfer to the University of Kentucky for the same tuition price as BCTC after completing 48 hours and maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA.

Academic Experience: Every teacher I've ever had at Bluegrass Community and Technical College has been more than wonderful. They provide one on one time, respond to emails in a timely manner and make learning much more interesting. It's very obvious that the professors there love their job.

Campus Resources: I'm currently at Bluegrass Community and Technical college and it's great because BCTC is associated with University of Kentucky. I sometimes have to pay a little extra, but I'm still offered the same opportunities as UK students. I can have a UK sports pass, be a member of the Johnson Center for exercising etc. and I can be involved in many of the same campus activities as UK.

Student Body: I love the atmosphere of our school! It's so amazing, there's different cultures and everyone pretty much gets along. Everyone that I've met is very kind, helpful, and bring joy to my days. Everybody is unique and are accepted to be themselves and I just love that because you don't see that in a lot of areas (as far as respect is concerned).

Academic Experience: It's definitely a lot of work, of course because it is college work. The thing I love about my classes is that the teachers really do go out of their way to help you succeed in any way possible. The requirements are more than easy to complete, with the low requirements it gives you a better chance to get in and complete the program.

Academic Experience: There are many programs offered at my school, in all basic areas that majority of people want to do. For example: Nursing programs, criminal justice, business, dental, and so much more. The professors are so nice, easy to deal with when you really show an interest to try.

Overall Experience: While the range of courses available has been disappointing, my time at my current institution has been excellent thanks to the professors I have had the pleasure of having. They have not only taken the time to teach the course, but have opened themselves up and shown themselves to be real people with real world experiences.

Overall Experience: I am looking forward to finishing my tenure at my current school and moving on to a four year institution where I can have more options for classes, relationships with students who have similar academic and personal interests, and administration with a larger pool of resources.

Academic Flexibility: The school does not offer a very varied selection of classes for students who wish to pursue interests other than biology or transfer to the University of Kentucky. I had a very difficult time finding a science and lab to fit into my schedule for the Spring semester - unfortunately, I was unable to find one to fit and will have to take it in the Fall of 2015 at my transfer college. There were multiple Biology courses offered, but only one or two of each of the other sciences (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy).

Overall Experience: The quality of the courses are fantastic and there is a high amount of student participation. The class sizes generally run from 15-30 but are usually around 20 students. I even attended one English course that only had 12 students in the class. This made it so easy to get help from the professor when you needed it and all of the students got to know each other because we were not just another number.

Career Services: While I have yet to pursue help in job prospects or transferring, I have heard from other students that were able to receive the help they needed in pursuing their education or job opportunities post-graduation.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: There is a lack of campus activities and sporting events, however, I have noticed the staff attempting to change this. They are slowly incorporating more activities and events into the day and making the schooling experience somewhat enjoyable.

Online Courses: The online classes available at BCTC have helped me tremendously with scheduling conflicts between my family life and work load. My only critique would be the fact that, considering you do not have that face to face interaction between teachers and students, it tends to be harder to learn and harder to force yourself to complete the work.
