Biola University is located in the midst of La Mirada, smack-dab in the middle of a quiet suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The small neighborhood is very well-kept and houses hundreds of warm, accommodating people. Many professors and students live just off campus in the surrounding neighborhood and love to open their houses for small events at the school. Because Biola is located right in the middle of a neighborhood, it's a little difficult to navigate one's way out sometimes, and other than a few house parties, not much goes on outside of the school. Students looking to go out and do things would be encouraged to find someone with a car.

The neighborhoods surrounding Biola make it a relatively safe place; no one ever worries about crime at Biola because of the nice buffer zone surrounding the school. In addition to that, students tend to feel safe hanging out on campus at night and rarely leave the campus, unless going swing dancing, seeing a movie, or grabbing a bite to eat. One of the biggest off-campus features that Biola boasts is Disneyland, as it's only about 15 minutes away. Because of this, most students have year-long passes to Disneyland and make thorough use of them before the year's up. In addition to that, students love to go to the beaches nearby, as they, too, are only about 15 minutes away.
