Campus Housing: I lived in Stewart my freshman year and it is perfect for the anti-social recluse. Being a social butterfly, it was rough because there was absolutely no community unless you were a sophomore or junior or RA. However, it is the most lenient dorm on campus. Practically everyone had vapes and other "contract-breaking" things in their rooms and frequently had the opposite sex in their rooms longer than Open Hours accepted.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: There's nothing on campus to do but check out sporting events, so it is kind of a big deal.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They are pretty understanding and will give you money if you need it.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Good luck being a liberal in any form at this school.

Off-Campus Dining: Chick-fil-a, Chipotle, Starbucks, Panera, blah blah blah the list goes on. Off-campus dining was the best when you got sick of the Caf.

Overall Experience: My overall experience was a bust. It took a lot of will power to return in the Spring because it was too much. The professors are nice however it did not outweigh how I felt about how I felt I was treated as a child here.

2 College Sophomore

Administration: It's bad as in, they are probably more strict than a typical person's parents. Well, my parents at least. Open hours are the worst... The opposite sex cannot be in your room unless its 1-11 on weekends and 6-11 on wednesday and friday. Also, doors must be kept open and some RA's are even as strict as to both feet have to be touching the floor during their time in your room. It's rough. You're also on contract to refrain from sex, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and gambling. If found that you have done otherwise, you would have to take a class on that specific "sin" you committed.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of neat places to eat. The Coldstone creamery has student discounts.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus is very safe. Campus Safety works in conjunction with the nearby Sheriff's department. The ban on alcohol prevents a lot of crime.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I just had to take physics/math and chemistry placement tests to get into my major (engineering physics). If you fail it isn't a big deal you just have to take the lower level introductory courses. The nice thing about Biola's engineering program is that you have the opportunity to transfer to USC to get another undergraduate degree in a specific engineering discipline. That is what I am doing right now.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The class sizes are small and it is easy to get one-on-one interaction with professors. The professors genuinely care about you and will write stellar letters of recommendation for potential employers or schools that you are transferring to.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are a lot of places to shop, eat, and watch movies. However, there are not many adventurous/exciting things to do (unless you get creative).

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
