Campus Food: There are now 5 main places which one can get something to eat. The Cafeteria (aka The Cafe), Eagle's Nest, Common Grounds, The Talon, and The Soaring Eagle (food truck). While the food at most of these places is superb compared to the standard for most colleges and/or universities, it is a very limited selection for late night studies. However if food is a necessity in the waning hours of the night, there are plenty of food options within a mile or two of campus.

Campus Quality: Students and faculties at Biola are awesome! They are very friendly and welcoming. Even if you are a freshman or a transfer, they make you feel like you are at home. Since the campus is not a mega size, dorms to classes are fairly close. Even if you wake up late to class, you can get to class on time.
Biola is very clean and well kept. Many students enjoy to study out on grass or by the famous fountain. We have many clubs for students to join and many events!

Off-Campus Housing: I'm currently in Dorm, however, what i hear from people who are in off-campus housing is that the apartments are pretty close to campus. So many people can bike to school. Since the school is in the residential area, it is fairly safe to drive, bike or walk.

Technology: Computers at the library are pretty reliable and in good condition. However in some computer labs, they have problems with internet or are just completely outdated. I would recommend your own computer on campus, but it is not completely necessary.

Campus Quality: Biola has an awesome community. Although the campus itself is fairly small, and their facilities are nothing special, community at Biola is amazing. Students here are extremely friendly, professors are super chill and down to earth, and even workers (such as janitors or caterers) work with a smile on their faces. Food is pretty good, we have many different places to choose from, including our own personal Biola food truck!

Campus Quality: Everything is pretty good except for the athletic facilities. This isn't a priority given the fact that it is a private christian school, but still the gym and weight lifting room could use work.

Majors: I'm a psychology major, and even though I just started taking degree classes this semester, I've really enjoyed it so far. The professors I've were great and really show that they care about their students. The curriculum is challenging, but very interesting at the same time. I want to study behavioral psychology and go into the research field eventually, and I feel the classes here are giving me a good foundation for that.

Local Area: The school is located in a suburban area, so there generally isn't much going on in the surrounding region. If you have a car and can go off campus, there's a number of shopping malls and recreation places that are about 10-15 minutes away and they're pretty cool. As for the social atmosphere of the school, it's very peaceful and the community is really good. The safety is pretty good as well.

Off-Campus Housing: The Off-Campus housing is approximately a 10-15 min walk from campus. All the off-campus housing is on the same block and only opened for Biola students. They are nice, but parking looks a little tight.

Majors: Many different majors to choose from with a variety of concentrations.

Weather: Biola is located in LA, where it is beautiful. There have been some rainy days though :( In the summer it is beautiful!

Health & Safety: Our campus safety are extremely cautious of what is going on. Students and staff work graveyard shift to make sure we are safe. As soon as a crime occurs near campus they notify us through email immediately. We have call phones all around campus for when needed, or to simply call when you are too scared to walk from a late class to your dorm.

Transportation: There is a shuttle that comes by even the off campus housing all day long. It stops in the afternoon though so if you have night classes then you're on your own. There is good public transportation though and most people ride their bikes or drive their own car.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a number of options quite near the school. However there is nothing really trendy. It's mostly ethnic foods or franchise locations. My wife and I particularly enjoy Panera Bread which is a 1 min drive from campus.

Technology: I believe Biola is ahead of the curve in technology. Apple computers are all over the campus and easily accessible. There are also PC's available for those who are more comfortable with these computers. The journalism, design and film students have access to all Adobe and advanced editing programs and equipment to check out for free.

Majors: I really enjoyed being a journalism student and the opportunities it gave me. Most notably, I went with a group of journalism students to the Dominican Republic to write a book about their culture, as a junior in the program. It was life-changing and also provided an awesome product for my portfolio. On top of this, the professors of the program are accessible and very passionate about helping you individually grow not only academically but spiritually, while you're in school and even after you graduate. They know your name and care about you.

Majors: I was very happy with the program at Biola and I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I specifically grew in the biblical studies classes. These classes prepared me for a life centered around the Lord and whatever career I end up in will be a direct result of this.

Majors: Getting into the journalism program was easy and it does not require addition application. It is a great idea to sit down with the head of the journalism department before choosing the major in order to decide if this is the right path for you.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I had an excellent internship at Biola for my journalism degree. The internship was specifically for public relations and I was able to be part of the University's PR team and have a lot of hands-on experience. While it was unpaid, it was for college credit and helped me build a portfolio.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I recieved a scholarship for grades. Paperwork was necessary, and you need to stay on top of deadlines and talk with your admissions counselor.

Transportation: Lots of Public transportation is available. Biola also provides a shuttle on weekends to the local shopping centers.

Health & Safety: Campus Safety patrols 24/7. There have been reports of people being assaulted in the park across the street, but not on campus. There were a string of laptop lefts last year, but Campus Safety cracked down and found the culprits. They installed more cameras and keep a keen watch on campus. I feel extremely safe on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Biola offers apartments available to upper class men. There are also a wide selection of houses that are within 5-10 minutes of campus, close enough where one could ride their bike to.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Food places are not that bad. There are fast food areas close by such as Chik-Fil-A and In-N-Out. Other nicer restaurants are about a 20 minute drive. You also have Downtown Disney within 20 minutes which offer great restaurants. Although these are a little pricier, annual pass holders get a discount

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Several options, but need a car to get to most; but, many students have cars and can always find a ride

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
