Health & Safety: The Health Center has practically all the medicine you ever need to take, and they offer shots and checkups throughout the week.

Off-Campus Dining: There are not a lot of places to eat around the campus within walking distance. You would need a car to go to a few good restaurants nearby.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid process was a long one with requirements, but as long as you do them correctly and turn in what is needed, it will all turn out fine. Look and see if you apply for any scholarships that Biola offers. They may be of great help towards your major.

Off-Campus Housing: I have never lived off campus yet, so I am not able to answer this.

Party Scene: We tend to hold our own versions of "parties" that are controlled.

Local Area: Not much to do, unless you have your own car.

Administration: The community is very well aware of the things going around, and we all help each other achieve the goal of keeping ourselves within the bound rules.

Majors: I absolutely LOVE my major. I love the university's support for us by creating a speech clinic on campus.

Party Scene: There are no parties. Period.

Overall Experience: I love attending Biola University. Even though I don't live on campus, the students are just so friendly. The professors are helpful and kind to all of their students.

Guys & Girls: Everyone at Biola is amazing! They're friendly and love meeting new people.

Athletics: Although I do not participate in any sports, it seems fun to be a part of.

Campus Housing: Since I live with my parents, I cannot give a good explanation about the dorms, but what I do know is that the buildings are kept clean every day.

Off-Campus Dining: I live at home, but from driving to and from school, I can say that there are different food options that are good for students who do not know Southern California.

Scholarships: It was difficult for me to understand the financial aid process, but with the help of financial aid counselors at Biola, I was able to receive enough money for college.

Administration: Biola University is great at keeping their campus strictly organized. Although some students may disagree with the policies, I believe the policies help students to think about actions that may possibly result in consequences.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Don't run a stop sign! Don't even try the California roll. There are very many rules.

Local Area: The surrounding area of Biola is simply neighborhood. There is not much to do off-campus or on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There is no Greek life, but I wish there was.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: It is difficult to find somewhere affordable to live in La Mirada. Most students have to commute from longer distances. But, it is worth it to not be living on-campus.

Overall Experience: There is not much widely known alumni work going on at the school. The school is not widely known, so would not really know what the literal value would be. However, going through the schooling gives students a different perspective on life than a public or secular school would.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: It is comparable to high school. The gym is in fact the size of a high school gym. It is fun to go to some games, but there is not much spirit from the fans.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have only had minor delays in receiving financial aid and assistance. Though I had these difficulties, the people at the Financial Aid office were easy to work with. Therefore, it went smoothly and I was able to receive the money I need.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off campus dining options are okay. There are basic fast food places around, as well as Panera and Starbucks. The rest of the options on Imperial blvd are more numerous. The farther a student goes, the more options there are. However, for those with no car, there is no variety, and certainly nothing healthy.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It's awesome to live on campus. Students are close to the cafeteria, close to classes, and close to anything else they need. However, there is absolutely nothing social to do on the weekends. I am not picky, and do not expect parties or huge events. However, on the weekends it is a ghost town.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
