Scholarships: It is hard, but not impossible to get financial aid at Biola, the counselors at the financial aid office try to help you get the money you need for each year.

Guys & Girls: So many people on campus end up getting married by the time they graduate.

Campus Housing: Most of the buildings, aside from alpha and the classrooms over by the sand volleyball court, are new in appearance. For the most part, everybody gets along and the occasional dorm rivalries are fun.

Transportation: Having a car or knowing someone with a car on campus is a very good idea since most of the things to do off campus require either a long walk or a car to get to. On the plus side, you are relativily close to LAX, within an hour drive or so.

5 College Junior

Weather: Perfect weather, neither hot nor cold, usually around 70-85 degrees, not much rainfall and no snow :( but the weather is nice enough that you can stay outside all day.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Almost all of the students are Conservatives and all of them are Christians. That be said, the school is pretty diverse ethnically and economically.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There is off-campus housing literally less than a mile from the school and they have security that keeps the place safe at night. The only problem is that the apartments nearby are usual filled rather quickly by the upperclassmen.

Overall Experience: Overall, Biola is pretty awesome, the teachers are great and friendly. The food at the Café is pretty decent for a college. Best experience is either Nationball, a giant dodge ball competition between the dorm halls, or Mockrock, which is an annual talent competition (mainly skits and dancing)

Campus Quality: A little better than average. Alpha dorm is out dated and not enough electrical outlets for computer, cell phone, lamp, etc.

Local Area: Overall, better than average, some things are excellent! Just very expensive and taxes are horrendous!

Scholarships: The school has been very good to deal with concerning their financial aid. However, it is extremely hard to get scholarships even though I really need them (if not impossible) because I am white, both parents work, and both parents are married and alive.

Diversity: Very diverse, which is nice.

Off-Campus Dining: Real good options, but you have to have a car to get to most of them.

Majors: Fairly easy to get into the program, but the admission process was cumbersome and confusing. Especially trying to find out what books are required for each class, that was so frustrating! Difficult to find out what is required, and order on line. Also, the bookstore hours are not very cooperative, and they do not know what books are required for what classes.

Majors: I am a freshman and have not needed internships yet.

Athletics: I don't participate in them but want to at some point.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Strict, but it should be, accountability is the key.

Technology: You have to have your own computer, there are none to use on campus. Mine crashed, and it was extremely difficult to function since there are none to use, and many students won't let you use theirs.

Party Scene: Not appropriate for a private Christian college.

Campus Food: Dining is very good, it is very expensive, not very flexible, and confusing how to use my meal plan at other locations on campus.

Greek Life: Not applicable to me at this time.

Weather: The best weather on the planet.

Drug Safety: For the most part, students live the Christian life they profess, which includes refraining from these things.

Health & Safety: Very good, I feel safe.

Parking: Parking is good, and they are adding more. The cost, however is really high, I mean reallllly high.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
