Technology: The computers are great! It does get crowded at times

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I believe that there is a lot of variety of food around campus. There is not a lot of student discounts but there is a lot of good places and a lot of hole in the walls that are unique

Weather: We live in Southern California so the climate is stable. We have nice weather year around over all. One thing that is strange is that we do not seem to have seasons because the weather is almost the same all year around

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I really like the my school and the people I have met there, I am almost certain I have met life long friends at my school. The school has morals and many programs that are meaningful. The school promotes many things that actually matter in the world. I was able to travel to South Africa my first semester there with all expenses paid because we were able to fund raise the money. I do not believe many universities offer opportunities like those.

Campus Food: I think that the school has pretty good quality food. There is always consistences which I appreciate but the food is expensive when actually having to buy it. Since the cafeteria is buffet style we get to eat as much as we want. The biggest problem is that the hours are limited, especially on the weekends.

Academics: The academics overall is great. The student/professor ratio is great and the professors truly care about the students. Classes are sometimes hard to get into but usually not as much as a hassle as public universities I assume. Then again the class sizes are smaller, which means less students in each class. Most of the popular classes are big so most people are able to get into the classes. The workload is average to hard but it is worth the work most of the time.

Academics: I love my major. Anthropology overlaps with the intercultural studies school. Although there are not many people within our major it makes us very close with the students and professors. We have a lot of gatherings and the classes offered are really interesting. What is unique in our program is that we have to do field work during the summer of our Junior year.

Parking: The parking is not always the best. I do not drive so I do not have to deal with the pain yet, but there is a hard time getting a good spot on-campus especially the spots close to the dorms. The ticketing is very strict but not very expensive.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: The atmosphere around the school is precious. It is a very nice and quite neighborhood but maybe not the best for a university because of the many elderly people living in the area. Yet there are things to do nearby and it is a very safe neighborhood.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: I do not think there is sufficient transportation but then again live in the city of Los Angeles where there is public transportation everywhere. Overall, I believe it is okay because there is transportation and if not then we can use bikes and other modes to get around since our campus is located in the city.

Administration: Our school is very strict but at the same time we are able to have the freedom to do what we please overall. Restrictions are not bad if it is for our good and in most of these cases they are. Many might not agree but then they should probably be attending this university.

Greek Life: I rated this the worst, because we do not have "Greek Life" at Biola.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Our school is not strict in a bad way. The allow us to use the honor code, and help us be the best christians we can be.

Athletics: We do not have cheerleaders anymore. And that is sad. And we also do not have football. Regardless, our school most definitely has spirit.

Campus Quality: The athletics center is great! The library has a lot of places you can go to study and get a lot of work done. There is the SUB, the fireplace pavilion, Commons, etc.

Campus Housing: I really want to live in Hope. I currently live in Alpha. It is an all girl dorm, which is ok at times. But my friends and I like our men. haha

Guys & Girls: Let's just say, Biola has A LOT of attractive people.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It does stink that if both your parents went to Biola, you do not get more of a discount. I think that is something that needs to be changed.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Biola has been my dream school since I was 12 years old. I will always love it. And I will always think that it is where I am meant to be. I have always known that. :)

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Although I really do not go many places, you can take a shuttle, ride your bike, or use a we-car. Or something like that. My vote though, is go places with friends. It is usually cheaper!!

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many places to eat off campus, if you are willing to pay extra money and not eat in the Caf. However, I recommend that if you have a meal plan...use it!

4 College Freshman

Local Area: La Mirada is a very safe town, and there are so many places you can go. Also, just a half an hour aways is Los Angeles, the beaches, Hollywood, etc. :)

5 College Freshman

Academics: I love the elementary ed program. There are not a lot of us, so everyone gets close. However, being a teacher we do almost as much as nurses or doctors, but we get paid 1/10th as much.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The professors all pray before class begins, and they are all very welcoming and friendly. Also, they are all extremely smart. The registration process is difficult, but in the end you can usually get the classes you want. The workload is not too extreme.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
