Scholarships: Biol is expensive, but the financial aid office is great in helping you find what you need.

Greek Life: There is no greek life on campus that i know of. Biola's dorms are better than greek life.

Athletics: Intermurals are awesome, as dorm floors usually form teams. I love playing in the intermurals, as they include such sports as softball, basketball, soccer, frisbee, etc.

Health & Safety: It's pretty good with it's job, sometimes I may think them to be lazy and others extremely too tough on students.

Administration: Our school is pretty strict and has community standards for a reason. We are a Christian school so it holds traditional Christian values and morals, such as no drinking, drugs, sex, etc while a student at here.

Academics: I am a nursing major. It is a lot of time and effort, and you have to really enjoy your science classes as a pre-clinical student in order to do well. It is definitely a sacrifice on social aspects but so worth it.

Transportation: Assuming one doesn't have their own car...

For the most part you need to know someone who has a car and for people who do have cars, they are all pretty friendly and open to helping transporting friends around..soo basically if you don't make friends who have cars then you're mostly relying on the WeCars and although the WeCars are nice, they can add up and be pretty expensive to say the least. I haven't used the campus shuttle but friends of mine have and they liked it. Again, not far from Amtrak in Fullerton so that is extremely convenient. Roughly 40 minutes away from LAX, Long Beach Airport, and John Wayne Airport so that isn't too bad if you have friends who can drive you if you can't drive yourself.

Drug Safety: I haven't seen, smelt, or heard of anyone using drugs or alcohol on campus. I have heard of some "underground" parties that go on outside of campus but I don't know who goes or who throws them. It's nice because it actually seems to be a popular thing to be sober all the time, like it's popular to not drink or do drugs and the people who do are more so the ones who are the "odd ones out" so to speak, and even then it's not all that prevalent on campus. Overall it's a great environment because it's practically non-existent.

Campus Housing: I love Hope. I used to want to live in Horton, but since I have lived in Hope I can't imagine living in any other on campus dorm! The community is incredible, pretty much everybody knows everybody on our floor, people will go to other halls within Hope just to meet new people and make friends and everybody is roughly open and friendly to it. Hope has a great laundry room and kitchenette on the first floor. I live on the second floor on the North side and I love our second floor lobby that is in between the boys and girls halls. There's snack machines and drink machines on every floor. All halls on every floor have their own lobby(so a girls lobby and a boys lobby along with the main lobbies in the middle between the halls). The only down side has been issues with ants but since November/December they haven't been so bad. The cost isn't that great if you do just a single or a double, but the discount for living in a triple makes it totally worth it! Hope has the biggest rooms on all of campus, including Horton; for example I am a triple that lives in a room sized for a double but we were easily able to captain all of our beds so none of us has to deal with a bunk or loft and we are all happy with the set up :)

Academics: As long as you keep up on homework and go to tutoring when you don't understand something, the academics are great! Haven't met a single professor who doesn't genuinely care for their students academics and understanding of the course. Workload is a bit heavier but it is bearable without being too much. Most important thing is DO NOT procrastinate on doing chapel credits!!

Local Area: Being so close to Disneyland makes something that everyone can go to to have fun. An annual pass isn't the most affordable but there is Downtown Disney which has the typical Disney feel. There are great food and snack places around, lots of restaurants. My floor will go on fun donut runs or "froyo" runs at night. There is an ice skating rink near by. Fullerton Amtrak station is 15 minutes away so it makes it easy to go to other towns near by without the stress of driving all the way there.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
