3 College Junior

Administration: I think it is for the best interest of the students. It is hard with the pressure for drinking when people are of age when you are home for spring break or on your birthday.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I absolutely loved living on campus. The community, hall events, floor events, RA's, etc. ARE ALL AMAZING. You do need to take initiative and make an effort to get to know people but it's usually a two way street.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It is sometimes confusing but for the most part I can figure out what I need to do. It is difficult to get outside scholarships and the specific loans biola can give have high interest rates.

4 College Junior

Majors: I applied under kinesiology and I got accepted there are no criteria or separate application.

3 College Junior

Majors: It is a very difficult program, if you are not determined or planning to go to graduate school then I would consider something else. I love the material so I think it is worth it. The sciences here are incredibly hard. A lot of time, effort, and study sessions are required to do well, let alone pass. There are awesome opportunities and great faculty that care and help, their curriculum is just very difficult, and the grading is hard as well.

3 College Sophomore

Technology: I use the computer lab since I do not have a laptop.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is diversity if you seek it out. There is a good amount of acceptance as well.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Diversity is encoraged and fostered on campus, however students tend to flock to their own kind which is natural.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: LA has a lot to offer, but it is a large area so things can be far away and more money than I am willing to spend.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The school holds its students to high, but appropriate standards and handles things appropriately.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Most of the dorms are very nice and each one has a unique personality. Housing selection can be hard, but it is a work in progress.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of the same things. The area is highly asian populated so there are a lot of asian food places and few other options.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I literally never see or hear about drugs on campus, and in the past years I've only personally heard of one person drinking.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Mostly you can just walk or bike anywhere, but Biola provides a nice bus service that will take you to your off-campus apartment or a shopping center. Cars are nice to have, but not totally essential.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: "Nightlife" isn't typical at Biola. We don't have raves or parties, bars or clubs. We have events and concerts, worship services and trips to Diddy Reese!

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus. The campus police and campus safety cadets are very prevalent and willing to help. Biola takes safety seriously!

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: We don't have a Greek life!

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Though this school is a bit on the more expensive side, I understand that I am getting an incredible educational environment for my money. I feel amazing community while at school and love the dorm I'm in. The RA's (residential advisors) are so much fun and end up being your mentors as well as your friends.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: When you decide to attend Biola, you also decide to abide by their specific rules...which is understandable! If you don't agree with the moral standards that Biola stands for, then maybe you might want to rethink your decision in attending. I think that the school does a wonderful job adhering to the commandments laid down in the Bible through applying them with love. The faculty and administrators of the school don't want you to be unhappy, what they do want is to educate you in a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Considering that Biola is a relatively small school, I think that it has a good amount of diversity. I meet students from across country and across oceans, many of my friends come from much different ethnic backgrounds than mine (such as Indonesian or Indian). Biola is continually working on developing and encouraging diversity.

Weather: Please, it's California. Need I say more? I'm from Chicago, this weather rocks!

Athletics: Being runner representing Biola, I can say that many students attend games with extreme Eagle spirit. I'm not allowed on a intramural sport because I'm in a varsity sport, but they are just as equally important within campus because more students can be involved. It's a great atmosphere to be in, and it's hard to miss the 'upcoming game'.

4 College Student

Technology: Sometimes the technology can be a bit funky, but 95% of the time it's completely reliable. The tech and software are up-to-date on the latest industry standards, and the amount of computers on the campus and the availability is more than enough for me.

Diversity: It's not a bad thing because I feel like a private, christian college is supposed to be this way. We all attend Biola because we believe similar things, but it's also true that we all have different opinions on certain subjects. Generally, we at campus trend the same way, but slightly branch out in a similar direction.

4 College Student

Administration: Although I believe that there should be a little bit more grace at some times, I can't complain about how much integrity Biola has. The professors and staff at Biola want to protect us and shape us into responsible adults, and they honor their code.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
