3 College Sophomore

Local Area: There are a lot of places to shop, eat, and watch movies. However, there are not many adventurous/exciting things to do (unless you get creative).

Off-Campus Housing: The Biola owned off-campus housing is very competitive. Some of the apartments are new and others are very out of date. They have limited assigned parking, but I was frustrated by how often people took my spot. I had to call campus safety so that I could park.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I liked living in Horton because it is a new building and it has A/C.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Make sure you do your Calgrant and FAFSA.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food is usually pretty average, but it is really good during special events like a campus preview day.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: There is not very much partying at my school so students are more focused on their studies or developing friendships.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: They have a very nice library and a fountain in the middle of campus that students like to socialize around.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I like having an excuse to study what I love. It is nice to have a lot of young, intelligent people in close proximity to one another.

Academics: Professors are incredible. I am so excited to be able to be a part of the Biola community. I am so blessed by the integration I see in most of the classes I have taken.

Academics: I love my program. It is challenging, but my professor has really taught us about the intrinsic value of education and pushing ourselves to do our best work. She encourages us that education is not a grade, but rather an experience. I am so pleased with my education.

Scholarships: I haven't really worked at all with the financial aid office. However, I have heard both good and bad things from other people. I am thankful for the academic scholarship they have awarded me. But, I really hope they could help students locate more scholarships as well.

4 College Senior

Athletics: I spent a year on the swim team, and loved it. There seems to be fair fan support (really only among our friends though). I wish it could a bigger part of campus life.

College Senior

Guys & Girls: A rating? No. I really enjoy getting to know people at my school - there seems to be a lot of diversity in interests and passions, which is really neat. I love the diversity in personality.

4 College Senior

Majors: I have done a few internships through my school. The Journalism and Public Relations majors are really great at showing students what is available to them.

However, some of the options are unpaid (which is understandable) - but I don't think we should necessarily have to pay for an internship credit (pay to do work?). Either pay the student for the work they are doing, or don't charge for a credit.

Majors: I am thrilled with my program. The professors are wonderful, and so interested in getting to know their students. They challenge us and come alongside us in our education. Thankful.

Local Area: There is lots to do if you are willing to make the travel arrangements. I hope my university becomes more integrated with the city!

Diversity: Coming from a very diverse community in Minneapolis, diversity is something that is very important to me. I believe that my campus makes intentional strides in creating topics of conversations such as racial reconciliation. As far as politically, I believe there is a healthy place for conversation on campus. Through debates, clubs, etc - multiple viewpoints are presented.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of chain restaurants nearby. However, if you drive about 20 minutes, there are a lot of unique places to check out!

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: I loved my time living in the dorms! Really, such a highlight of my college experience.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are some great apartments to choose from, however it seems there are not enough. Maybe they can fine-tune the selection process.

Campus Quality: Biola is unique because it so intricately combines faith and education. Biola provides such a holistic educational experience.

4 College Senior

Campus Quality: The university has made great strides in developing our campus. I look forward to what it will look like in the future. It is great already. I just hope it doesn't grow too much - I fear that would change the dynamic of the university a bit.

3 College Senior

Academics: I have had some very excellent professors who have really made a difference in a positive way in my academic career. But, unfortunately I have had a lot of mis-communication issues and personally offensive experiences with a specific professor. The workload is very high and intense but allows for grace.

Academics: I would most likely recommend other nursing schools above this one based on quality and amount it costs to go to Biola.

Scholarships: Very confusing and lots of mis-communication.

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
