Athletics: Sports are a somewhat big part of campus, but mostly basketball

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It usually is not hard to find apartments, but costs a large amount of money

3 College Freshman

Administration: From my experience campus safety is strict, but in a healthy sense. There is not any problems from my understanding.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Whenever I go to the cafe I am never dissapointed. If I need to grab a meal I can always stop by "The Soaring Eagle" or "Eagles Nest" and once again I'm not dissapointed. Overall the food is great and has not caused any problems with me.

Guys & Girls: Everyone is attractive in their own special way. It is very diverse so everyone seems to dress differently and many people are in relationships. It seems like relationships and especially marriage are a big topic on campus which can be good or bad.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Everything about security is great, but when driving inside campus it seems like security thinks everyone is non-hostile and wouldn't notice if someone was holding a weapon

Greek Life: I am part Greek and everything seems normal to me. I have a friend who embraces his Greek culture and it seems the same way with him.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Not a party school, but plenty of fun events

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is a Waba Grill down the street which is always a great option and for a late night option In-N-Out usually stays open pretty late. The cost, convenience, discounts, and variety are all great

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The problem is I have trouble finding financial aid in general and it is always a headache. However my school helps me a whole lot when I'm trying to apply for some and always does everything they can to make sure I can pay for tuition.

Campus Housing: I am a commuter, but I visit the dorms due to friends.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food here is amazing there are plenty of options to choose from, and it all tastes great.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus in my opinion is great because you get to meet a lot of differenet people really quick, and you make friends much easier compared to those who are commuting.

Campus Housing: I live in Alpha and this is the only girl's dormitory on campus. My experience here has not been the best and I am going to move to another dorm the coming year. It is one of the oldest dorms, which is why there are so many bugs in rooms, bathrooms, halls, everywhere. There have been occasions where rats have appeared and other creatures. This is located next to the trash, which is why there are so many pests. The building is breaking down. Not in the sense that the building is going to fall down, but the air conditioning, electricity, water systems, laundry machines, etc have failed multiple times. Therefore, this is going to be biased in that I have not had a good dorm life especially when this is my first year at Biola. My community was not the best as well, because even though I was not super involved, there was no interactions besides the small amount of floor activities. I have said a lot of negative sides of this dorm but the perks of living here is how you can walk down the hall in a towel or be gross and no one will care. Also, the rooms are huge! You can rearrange everything into a cute, cozy room. This dorm is known to be a Freshman dorm because girls are put into this dorm and after their first year, they either move out to a different dorm or get off-campus housing. However, the other dorms are amazing and I have heard almost no complaints from my friends. I would recommend any dorm other than Alpha, and your dorm life will be excellent.

Campus Food: At the cafe, it is all you can eat and there is quite a variety. There are soups, salads, fruit, dessert, breads (sandwiches), and whatever hot meals that is being cooked at the different stations. Having flex is great because you can use it to buy yourself a coffee or smoothie or even a meal when you are tired of cafe food.

Campus Housing: The housing process is relatively easy, not too much hassle as long as you make the most of what you get. Campus is not very large so it takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end to another so it is good for classes and hanging out with friends from other dorms.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Biola apartments are available close to campus with pretty reasonable prices. many other apartment/house options around campus.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Chipotle, Chic fil a, Krispy Kreme, and many more. A lot of good places very close. Both chain and small restaurants.

Administration: Students sign a contract before coming here agreeing to not smoke, drink, do drugs, etc. Contracts are strictly enforced and there are pretty big consequences if they are broken. There are also open hours on floors where opposite genders can visit.

Party Scene: There are some parties that go on but most of them are like spontaneous trips to Krispy Kreme and watching a movie in the lobby which in my opinion is still great.

Scholarships: Tuition is expensive here so you need all of the financial aid you can get. Financial Aid office shows all possible scholarships and loans possible associated with the school and points you in the right direction to find more scholarships and loans.

Campus Food: A lot of the food in the Caf gets old and you start to miss home-cooked meals. Eagles Nest has great burgers, quesadillas, and burritos if you get tired of the Caf. Plus Heritage Cafe just opened up with real fruit smoothies, bowls, and Starbucks coffee so that is pretty great. The Soaring Eagle also has pretty good food.

Campus Housing: Housing is very close to classes and food places. Dorms are overall very nice. The community is great with "all halls" and floor activities.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing that is owned by Biola is a breeze to get into. The lottery times you get play a big part, but its usually a pretty simple process. They are not luxurious, but they are comfortable, affordable, and close to campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: La Mirada is not the most flavorful city, but students get by. There are a lot of late night options and if you like donuts, pho, or Taco Bell, you're in luck. But there are a lot of good restaurants if you're willing to drive 15 minutes or so. Really good Thai place, tons of boba, some really good pizza places. And it's not too far for a day trip into LA... Grand Central Market here we come!

Biola boasts an amazing Christian fellowship that's focused on delivering the Gospel, not only to its students, but to the world surrounding it. In taking classes and attending lectures, students feel much more apt to take on the world, not only with renewed and strengthened faith, but also with a professional education.

Biola can be an adjustment. But once you get involved with on-campus jobs and school events, it becomes much easier. After spending time with the students and faculty, you'll come to realize that you'll never find a school quite like this. But it takes a little bit of work at first. Biola's teaching is amazing, and the community is unparalleled. Nowhere else on Earth can students strike up random conversations with anyone and be able to "Facebook-friend" them and ask them to coffee the very next day. If you value your education and want to surround yourself with God-fearing students serving each other and the Lord, then Biola is the place for you!
