The school is literally the heartbeat of this town. The environment looks a little sketchy because of its location. The campus is very open and has alot of significant land marks. Definitely historic and nostalgic. The school could be a little less open to the public and have closer resturaunts but with friends the school is really great. The mall also sucks, especially if you are from a major city. Greek life and social events make this school the ultimate historically black college experience experience in my opinion. Get connected with the school and campus events!

There aren't enough dorms on campus. The dorms are very dirty and small. Some dorms put three people in one room, the air breaks, the rooms are full of mold and roaches, and no coed visitation beside one dorm which is the ONLY coed dorm on campus. Every dorm is different but everyone pays the same for housing which is interesting; some of the dorms have A/C's in each room while some dorms you cant control your air. Some have bathrooms, some have communal bathrooms. Some have Three to a room, some don't. Interesting that everyone has to pay the same price for housing though besides the people in the coed dorm. The social life inside the halls are ok, nobody really gathers in the lobbies that much. If they're in the dorm, they're in the room!

Rich History, Great Teachers, Very Expensive – I love the history of the "Great Bethune-Cookman." It began against all odds and is a very well-known and successful school today. I have grown role model relationships with many of the wonderful teachers here. They are always eager to help with obstacles I may be having. My pocket however, got a major punch over this summer. For my Nursing program it is required to take a summer course, but financial aid is not available for students during this time. The tuition has also been raised for the next semesters to come. I just worry that I have come this far and may not be able to complete due to the expenses involved. However, if money is not so tight like it is for me, there would be absolutely no issues with this school!
