Academic Flexibility: I was really happy about how easily my credits transfered. I submitted my transcripts and upon inquiry found out all I needed to take were VET courses and college chemistry. All my other electives and degree requirements were taken care of. Since I am out of county, I applied for chargebacks and everyone has been very nice and helpful navigating that process also. The only hassle has been the rush hour traffic on my way home!

Online Courses: Taking a hybrid course is a new experience for me and so far I like it. It means less time commuting and is more conveneient. The professor does a great job providing plenty of extra materials to clarify the information. We have had some assignments where we had a choice of doing something creative, like a video and that was a nice change of pace.

Overall Experience: I was very pleased with the class sizes, there is about a dozen of us in each of my classes, enough for some variety but not so many you feel lost in the shuffle. The professors are all very approachable and seem to want to make the learning experience as practical and enjoyable as possible.

Overall Experience: I went to an open house on the vet tech program, everything was clearly explained and it opened my eyes to other potential avenues of employment with this degree. I felt very comfortable with the information presented and very excited about the opportunity.

Academic Experience: I have done animal rescue for 20 years, but I am learning so much in the vet tech program and all I have done so far is prerequisites! It is all very technical information but very well tied into the day to day work of a vet tech. All of the professors have been very helpful and very engaged with myself and my fellow students. I chose this program over an online college because they emphasize hands on learning, which I think is very important in any medical field. Reading will only get you so far, if you can't place a catheter or take blood, you're not learning what's important.

Overall Experience: I have been really impressed so far. This college is an hour plus commute from my home in a much more urban area. It is the closest community college to offer a vet tech program and I am really enjoying my classes. There is an emphasis on practical knowledge that we will use every day as vet techs and that is important to me. I don't feel like I am just being taught useless trivia, everything we are learning is applicable to our profession and important. I was surprised how friendly and helpful everyone has been, being a larger school than I am used to I had expected it to be less of a warm environment. Commute notwithstanding, I would definitely choose Bergen community college again.

Overall Experience: As long as you are focused and take the time to make a schedule where you research your professors you should be good. Bergen is a pretty good stepping stone and an affordable place to bring up your grades and change as an overall student if you did poorly in high school.

Academic Flexibility: I'm able to go to school during the day but most of the time have to wait around for the next class to start

2 College Senior

Career Services: Nothing for post grads really. You can take summer classes even if you already graduated

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Small classes, okay professors, not a wide array of classes. Mostly general education classes

2 College Senior

Overall Experience: Nothing going on to help you advance in your career

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The class load is manageable, not too many assignments

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Classes are small but the school is large, it feels like a community. There's always something going on and to get involved with. The professors teach at other schools so you know you're getting an equal education

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's to get to the next round, basically.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The major I took was engineer program. I am more of a math person so this right for me. I took a drafting course, which I needed to take, due to that I now have great interest in architect. I took a auto Cad course in order to get into an internship.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Incredibly easy school and workload. Barely any challenge, except some in my honors classes. Wish this school was more serious academically, but you cannot expect that from a community college.

2 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I personally, as a pre-med student, had no help in my field nor did I have many good resources or professors, besides one. Unfortunate for someone who is pursuing something serious.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Workload is much more light in an online class than in person, and it is especially good for someone who is busy. But I cannot say I learned much from my online classes.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Transferring credits to another NJ school once you obtain your associates isn't hard, but the administration and employees aren't helpful and you're on your own.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Valuable to save money in your first two years of college and get credits out of the way, but it isn't exactly the most quality or challenging education. Not a college experience nor an academic prospect for someone who is interested in expanding their mind and truly learning college level material.

Overall Experience: The professors are awesome and we do learn a lot. And the classes are small enough we get along(25-30) and not too large that we are cramped (30<). The courses that are offered are a lot and SOUND great. BUT, THERE HAS NOT BEEN ENOUGH REGISTRATION THAT THERE HAS ONLY BEEN 3 CLASSES AVAILABLE (Spring 2016). This is due to mismanagement of scheduling. And HOPEFULLY this will CHANGE. But the classes are great and awesome, it just NEEDS BETTER MANAGEMENT.

Academic Experience: The Fashion Apparel Design Program is a NEWBIE PROGRAM. HOWEVER, it is NOT PROPERLY PROMOTED. And many of us are suffering through this. The professors especially Prof. Rutter, are awesome. Just that this PROGRAM IS MISMANAGED!

We LEARN SO MUCH in the Fashion Industry and how everything comes together. BUT IT'S JUST THE PROGRAM IS MISMANGED IN SCHEDULING. WE LEARN ALL OF THESE THINGS (sewing, business, textiles, etc.), JUST FOR SOMEONE TO NOT LET US GO ON AND MESS UP THE SCHEDULING NOT LETTING ANYONE ELSE REALLY BE ABLE TO SCHEDULE WITH THIS ALONG WITH GEN ED COURSES.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: My experiences with online course has been very convenient. The workloads I have incurred has been a reasonable amount and has a good amount of peer-to-peer interaction. The professor to student relationship is better than some in class courses due to the amount of communication needed to complete the course.

2 College Senior

Career Services: I have not officially graduated; however, I do not see a strong career center nor a strong alumni network. The job prospects are common jobs that do no require a high education.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I will be able to answer this question when I begin my attendance at Bergen community college.
