Party Scene

{{ error }}
4 College Freshman

Party Scene: I'm not a huge party person and you don't have to be here. If I want to go out, I can. Drinking is usually apart of the culture, though it doesn't have to be. We believe in learning how to respectful and mature with alcohol (the school can think of us as adults). Sometimes the parties just aren't packed. It can get pretty cold in the winter and there is a lot of private room parties

2 College Sophomore

Party Scene: You need to be a part of a group of people and have your own little private parties. The party scene is pretty bad, it's boring. Personally, I don't like it. I would prefer hanging with my friends doing our own thing.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: It's fun, a lot of music concerts and open-mic nights in C-Haus.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The party scene isn't really prevalent on campus, which a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for. The usual parties are usually held by Greek life, but a lot of people host drinking games and parties in their own rooms. They're just a lot smaller.

5 College Senior

Party Scene: Beloit has a pretty mellow party scene. There is always fun stuff going on at C-Haus, there are bands there every weekend and there are usually things to do there on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. You can definitely find a party here if that's what you want to do but there is also a lot of other programming if going to a party isn't your thing. Beloit has an alcohol philosophy which is that the campus will treat you like an adult if you act like one. This means that people usually don't get busted for drinking (even if they're underage) unless they are being irresponsible.

Nightlife at Beloit College generally stays on campus. Occasionally, you'll come across an off-campus party, but the charm of winter keeps students inside, huddling together in the lounges or the C-Haus or whatever on-campus party happens to be going on. Nightlife, in the traditional sense of the word, is rather low-key in Beloit. There is no exciting bar strip nor any dance clubs worth mentioning. This means that students have to use their imaginations to keep things fresh and exciting, and that usually ends with fame and celebrity in the Round Table security reports.

A typical night in Beloit includes meeting up with your friends, drinking with those friends, venturing out to check what's happening on campus, perhaps having a few drunk conversations with a few drunk student philosophers, then going home with or without the aforementioned friends. Sometimes you'll make ramen, sometimes you'll order Papa John's, and sometimes you'll throw up and fall asleep in your clothes. A fun night at Beloit is hit or miss, but that's not to say Beloit doesn't have a nightlife. Though, sometimes it seems more like a night-death.

What to Do if You're Not 21What's This?

Stay on campus. There are a lot of substance-free parties and events for people who cannot or choose not to partake. People will actually go to them too, believe it or not. And you can always go to the C-Haus, play some pool, see a band, and not drink.
