3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There are people there for you if you need to talk to someone.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus security is available 24/7 and there are security booths where one can call security located all around campus. Campus crime is extremely minimal and I always feel safe in any part of campus.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus like most has it's problems with the reporting and dealing with SA but the students on campus make it an issue to make sure education is provided to students of all genders and that administration knows that it is an issue students take seriously.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Our alcohol "philosophy" is great, and this is coming from someone who does not really drink. Because our campus is wet and underage drinking is allowed, students are more likely to contact campus security if there is a problem because they know that they won't get in trouble. There have been incidents on campus with rape, theft, drug-related violence, etc. but the administration is aware and they're trying to solve it. I personally have not had any issues with safety.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus, but the health center has weird hours.

Beloit College is like a room in your own home. The campus is pretty darn safe; the only real problems arise when people act stupid or irresponsibly. Campus security is always strolling through campus, looking for a chase, but they usually just get a "Hey, how's it going?" from the students passing by. There is definitely a good rapport between students and security officers. They are people we feel comfortable with, and we know they're watching out for us, even if that means calling us out on inappropriate behavior.

Students generally don't feel safe walking around the town at night-myself included. It's just not a good idea, especially if you're by yourself, and especially if you happen to be female. Campus, though, is safe. You can rest assured that those security officers can and will recognize a non-student intruder and will escort them outside our comfortable bubble if they can't give a good enough story.
