3 College Freshman

Administration: I haven't had to many run in's with them

4 College Sophomore

Administration: The administration isn't here to make your life choices for you. Beloit College respects the fact that you are an adult and make your own choices, especially in regards to alcohol.

5 College Senior

Administration: Security at Beloit is really good. Because we have an alcohol philosophy that encourages adult decision making rather than penalizes students for drinking, people are very comfortable with our security officers. Security officers are mainly around to help students and don't make it their mission to bust people. That said, the rules are enforced so if you have a really loud neighbor or need help, they are responsive.

5 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus Security is one of the best parts about Beloit. Our Alcohol policy is not underage drinking (<21 years old). However, the philosophy is that if you can drink responsibly and act as an adult, campus security will not reprimand you. I feel this really adds to the campus culture where students are given the responsibility and the choice to use but are held to the highest expectations that they can do so without harming themselves, their academics, or others. Security is only on campus to keep the students safe, and they do a great job!

2 College Freshman

Administration: I honestly don't know how the hell Beloit hasn't burned down already. The admin does hardly anything.

Campus security is sympathetic to the college situation. Or, rather, let's say they know college students are going to drink, but they don't let us have our cake and eat it, too. Everybody knows the Beloit philosophy on drinking, and for the most part, they follow suit without complaint. Security will give up their buddy status to reprimand people for acting stupid-and there are plenty of those types to go around. But if you are just hanging out and happen to have a drink in your hand, you need not run away from a security officer.

It seems, though, that more and more students are causing problems for the whole school by taking advantage of security's "hey, we're cool" attitude paired with the relaxed drinking policy. These people are not welcome at Beloit. So if you're one of those guys (excuse me, persons) who just can't control yourself with freedom to drink, we all ask you to consider another educational establishment. We're all about the fun at Beloit College, but we don't want our pseudo-Euro drinking atmosphere to get taken away because a couple people couldn't figure out what their limits were. Other than that, campus strictness ain't too bad.
