3 College Junior

Overall Experience: There are no job or internship prospects or alumni work. There is also a career center/services. There is an annual career fair on campus where the employers come out to recruit.

3 College Junior

Student Body: The student body is pretty diverse. I don't think there are any challenges in regards to diversity.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education that is received is definitely worth the small amount of money we might have to pay.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: There are no internship opportunities that I know about. The work load is challenging yet manageable. The curriculum does not get too in depth in the material which I wish it would. The facilities definitely could be better.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The class registration process is very simple. Some professors are really amazing; they seem like they genuinely care about each individual.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: There are no athletic teams, libraries, or campus activities there at all.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It is a great school that makes you feel like a person!

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: I love how the ethnic is so broad, i have people all over the world in my online classes!

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Gave me a scholarship but didn't tell me I had to be a full time student to use it.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My classes are online but they do a great job of making it feel like you are in a classroom setting!

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: It is a good school and great people!

Campus Resources: Barton county community college has the best trainers . They take care of us when were hurt never behind on treatments. The mentors makes sure that the students are on task to graduate on time and have all our credits. On holidays or special occasions the faculty will come up with fun activites for us to do , give us different types of foods . Barton is a warm welcoming family .

Academic Flexibility: Classes are offered all around the week at different times. They will work around sports and around work. Its pretty relaxed.

Overall Experience: Overall the school is your average community college. Don't go in expecting anything more. It's a fun place but don't go to Hays too much.

Student Body: Once you find yourself a crew, stick with them. The people you meet and hang out with in the first two weeks will probably be the best crew of friends you'll make. Try to get some that share your interest and classes. If you have one class together, the odds are you'll have one or two more. I ended up taking all the exact same classes as my roommate and he was a pretty cool guy. I recommend not getting involved in drama between clubs or sports. And if you are in either of those, just let others cause problems and you sit with your mouth shut and get through what you came to college for. No need in adding to the fire. Most of the students are friendly and easy going but if you get on one persons bad side then you get on the bad side of all their friends and friends of friends and so on. Best to just always walk around with a smile.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid screwed me over. Not the staffing from Barton, but the federal. They promised me full Pell but a week after school started they only gave me 500. Financial aid helped me get scholarships arranged and worked around my grant money that I was given. They also helped me arrange getting all the money that was going to be paid back to me. If you are going to work with them I suggest getting everything a month or two in advance before starting classes and triple checking that everything is done, turned in, signed, and archived. I had all my documents lost 3 times while starting classes and finally just made one stack with all the paperwork and put it in one envelope and walked it to them and watched them to make sure it was saved and put in the right spot.

Career Services: You'll be lucky to get an on campus job. I'm certified in most everything applicable to the student jobs offered there and yet they hire people with no qualifications and on a whim. There is no interview process, they just pick a name from a jar and hire them (not literal but pretty much how it goes). There are jobs in town (town is 12 miles from campus) but you have to actively pursue them just like applying anywhere else.

Academic Experience: Classes are awesome and the teachers are the best. I never struggled in any of my classes. Most of your general education classes are fly by easy classes and in the more difficult classes, the teachers offer their help literally 24/7.

Academic Experience: You can do almost anything and if they don't have something you like or want, you can always start a new club or suggest changes and they will actually listen to you.

Campus Resources: The food is okay. If you like freezer leftovers. Don't the rice... Like ever. You can bet chicken will be served almost every day. There's always hamburgers in case you want to have a normal day with not as many bathroom breaks.

The staff is amazing. I have to say they are the coolest people I've met and my teachers are pretty much my friends. They help you, talk to you like a normal person, and they are super easy to get along with. Heck last week I went out and got sushi with Dr. Ravitskyi. That man is funny.

Cleanliness is adequate, as long as you keep up your part in the dorms. So get a roommate that is clean or else it will only get worse. Sunflower is the best place to get dorms in my opinion. Its like your own little apartment. Cottonwood is alright but mid class kinda style. Bluestem is awesome and new but to me smells like celery everywhere you go and I hate the smell. Bluestem has a bug problem on the first floor. Crickets.

Speaking of the dorms, 90% of the students are black, and about 75% of them stay up till 6 am running and yelling in the halls. I do not recommend getting a room near the stairs. It sucks. All of the soccer people are British or Irish. So get use to the accents. The baseball guys are okay. They have great parties. Track is a sketchy sport, I would look elsewhere if that's your thing. Cheer coach is okay but the guy is a total dick and tries to hit on all the girls, that or totally humiliate them. The guys on the cheer team are chill. Girls like drama though.

The best place to take a nap on campus is the Library. Everyone knows it and everyone does. The only other thing people do in there is print stuff from the computers. Library offers laptops to check out so that's nice.

Winter is hell. There's snow and its slick and you walk up hill to get to your classes. It's always windy on campus. I've been there two years and have yet to have a day without wind. If there isn't wind then run, because something is wrong.
