4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Favorite experience is being on my own. My school's close nit environment makes it special. I love the student-professor interaction. I wish the food was a bit better.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I fell in love with the campus.

Off-Campus Housing: The housing off campus is much better if you find something for the right price but on a college students budget that wont be much in the quality department. Safety, parking, landlord and availability depends on the area in which you want to live.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: off campus dining in the area is good, cultural and usually economical if youre in the right area because it is miami stuff can become expensive. there are no student discounts usually ever.

2 College Junior

Party Scene: No parties on campus, after classes everyone just leaves and finds stuff to do. The student experience is hindered by this because it divides people and can be dangerous for people who live on campus and have to drive back under the influence

3 College Junior

Administration: the strictness is not really enforced unless someone is endangered or the schools rep is compromised.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The school costs alot so the financial aid office does offer alot for incoming freshman or transfers but when i came in my gpa was 2.5 from highschool. Now my college gpa is a 3.6 and that has no value int he financial aid office.

Campus Food: Campus food is disgusting, from the presentation to the taste. There is no quality food, nothing that catches your eye. Everyday the line for the deli gets longer and longer because the cheeseburger and pizza station is tiring not to mention artery clogging and the main entrees are usually horrific. Everything is constantly recycled on a 3 week basis; who wants the same meals for 3 weeks?

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: In relation to the average college, there is definitely more room and space provided in SOME of the dormitories and walking to class isnt bad because everything is pretty close. However, the social life is very dull, there isn't much school spirit, it's extremely expensive and the value is low. There are many limitations in how you use your meal plan and the housing lottery process is very tedious.

Off-Campus Dining: Mama Jennies is right next to Barry university and the food there is so greasy

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Barry University is expensive so even with Financial aid I had to pay about 5,000 out of pocket.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food looks good but it's tasteless

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My dorm bathroom caught on fire my first semester and I was transferred to a smaller dorm. But, once they fixed the bathroom they placed me back into the same dorm next semester, then the two dorms behind me caught on fire. However, the people at Barry are really friendly and it will be extremely hard to not make friends here. Food okay in the cafeteria, but there is a subway, Starbucks, chick and grill, and a bar that sells good food that makes up for it. The classrooms are small so the professor know your name and give everyone attention.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: greek life on campus is not really popular to me saw them couple times.

3 College Junior

Athletics: It has a good turn out on crowd or fans, always fun to watch

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: i never had to but the information was always posted

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: it is in miami shores so a little drive and many things come into play.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: there is always something going on just listen for the music especially on Friday.

3 College Junior

Administration: no complaints here it seems like about same rules apply

3 College Junior

Scholarships: always ask for juan he completely knowledgeable and always has a plan to help you.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: the menu in the main building is amazing. i brought a friend that does not go to school there and now he wants to go to school with me to eat.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: it has great campus life and diverse in types of people you meet.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Again I'm not really one to comment because I don't have an interest in those type of things.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't really pay it no mind so again I wouldn't know much about it.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It just all depends on if you going right or left.

Barry is a great university because it feels like its own community, yet everyone is so diverse and different. The class sizes here are small, and the professors are welcoming, warm, and give students personal attention, allowing for close-knit relationships to form between faculty and students. This makes each student feel like an individual who actually matters to the University. And it’s not just the professors who are welcoming—the other students here are very friendly, as well. From late-night snack runs to eating at the local restaurants with friends, students will create enough memories here to last a lifetime. Another perk is that Barry is very generous with financial aid, so if you think you can’t afford the tuition at this private school, think again.

And the fact that Barry is in Miami makes it even better. With its amazing beaches, clubs, restaurants, and entertainment, this city truly has it all! So if you’re looking for a unique college experience, give Barry a try, because as the motto says, “Barry is where you belong.”
