5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The classes offered are usually small sizes that are taught by professors that have years of experience and the knowledge that you gain from being in the field. There are a variety of courses offered at the school throughout the semesters.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This school is very well known especially when it comes to its alumni, which makes you want to attend. The career center/services on campus focuses on its students and continually host career fairs notifying all the students prior to the date. These career fairs usually include high end employers, that would be a dream to work for, this could become your reality.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Students are very involved in the athletics, they come out and support the teams at their home games, and bring great energy. The athletic facilities are always kept very clean on a daily basis.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The school offers a variety of different scholarships, so there are many ways of getting financial aid. My tip is to apply early so you have more options and you don't miss any.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food and dining options on campus include a variety of foods to choose from and they are spread all over campus making it easier to access.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus, so there's nothing I can say about it.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Just regular fast food places like Taco Bell, McDonald's, etc. Nothing special.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Barry will get you with so many scholarships first semester but then as it goes along, the costs seems like they get higher and all the scholarships that "cover" you disappear. Many students take out loans for bummy rooms and nasty board.

1 College Freshman

Party Scene: Internet goes in and out. Annoying when you're on the phone or trying to do homework on the computer to be inconvenient and go to the library.

1 College Freshman

Campus Food: Sandwiches and pizza are served daily. They do every other "theme" except for Black History Month.

1 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Freshman better hope they get a room in Browne or Weber. D&D halls are too small and they always place you with a roommate who is your complete opposite, making it hard to get along.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Barry University's athletics aren't really hyped up. The "fans" are only there during really important MEN'S basketball teams, because the girls just want to be a girlfriend to them. The basketball team is D2, but tennis and soccer is about D1.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Students tend to get away with a lot of things on campus. It really depends on who your teachers are and who your RA is.

Academics: Not the best, but not the worst.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The female guards barely pay attention and the male guards have many times hit on the female residents. During the day safety isn't an issue, but at night it can get really sketchy.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Aventura mall is about 30 mins away and has tons of stores to choose from. South beach also has a ton of stuff to visit and of corse there are many beaches near by.

1 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The Dunspaugh dorms are absurdly small, loud all nights of the week, and have problems keeping the bathroom clean. Other dorms tend to be better in quality, especially if you're an upper class man.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are very few places close to campus. A car is necessary to get to the really good off-campus dining. Mama Jenny's is the best and closest to campus. There is also a Chinese restaurant in a gas station that is surprisingly good.

2 College Freshman

Greek Life: Nobody really pays attention to the Greek Life. Those that do choose to join usually isolate themselves from the rest of campus. They tend to be basic.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Minorities are more likely to get extensive scholarships than the average joe. Many students have dropped out due to lack of finial aid.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The school lacks major sports and thus doesn't have much school spirit.

1 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food in the dining hall is the worst on campus. The food is often undercooked and rarely offers variety. Bucky's Cove offers better food, but is more expensive and does not participate in a meal plan exchange.

College Freshman

Majors: Junior and senior year, an internship is often required.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: The school parties are okay, you'll be able to find lots of other parties off/near campus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: It's really small and you almost can't tell that it exists on campus.

Barry is a great university because it feels like its own community, yet everyone is so diverse and different. The class sizes here are small, and the professors are welcoming, warm, and give students personal attention, allowing for close-knit relationships to form between faculty and students. This makes each student feel like an individual who actually matters to the University. And it’s not just the professors who are welcoming—the other students here are very friendly, as well. From late-night snack runs to eating at the local restaurants with friends, students will create enough memories here to last a lifetime. Another perk is that Barry is very generous with financial aid, so if you think you can’t afford the tuition at this private school, think again.

And the fact that Barry is in Miami makes it even better. With its amazing beaches, clubs, restaurants, and entertainment, this city truly has it all! So if you’re looking for a unique college experience, give Barry a try, because as the motto says, “Barry is where you belong.”
