Academic Flexibility: Academic flexibility really is great here. There are tons of online classes, tons of night classes, and a reasonable amount of weekend/alternate campus options. I haven't had major hassles or frustrations - in fact, it's all been really smooth. I've had no trouble transferring credits.

Online Courses: The online classes are about as difficult as in-person courses, maybe slightly more so. There's a great deal of reading and writing required, which isn't a problem for me (I'm a good writer with some published credits). There isn't as much tutoring or teacher support as in traditional classes, but if you're really struggling your teachers will help. Peer-to-peer interaction is surprisingly good, considering. Registration is easy.

Career Services: The job prospects, at least in terms of local employers, are good. The career center is helpful. I'm not familiar with post-grad services.

Overall Experience: I've had several good instructors and a few bad ones. For the most part, the quality of the instruction is good, and is never really below adequate. My only gripe is there are a few teachers that push their opinions regarding politics, current issues, and even religion on students, which can be especially uncomfortable. Overall, however, I'm satisfied and would go through the program again if I had to.

Overall Experience: The school offers several degrees and job placement that are specific to the area. In fact, in many cases local employers actively seek out graduates. There isn't much in the way of opportunity to students, but for those who have finished their programs there are decent local career prospects.

Academic Experience: My program (film production) isn't offered by my college. However, the paralegal program (which I finished) is very good, and the AA/AS for transfer programs are good as well.

Overall Experience: The teachers care, but they're overbooked (if that's the right term) and can only do so much. However, I do feel like I'm learning and I'm very much looking forward to applying my skills, experience, and knowledge to a 4-year school.

Academic Flexibility: my school is not as helpful as other schools because they want to keep the sudents there as long as possible because they get paid for how many students are at Bakersfield college

Overall Experience: Bakersfield college is a great school for students that want to transfer for its so cheap and in the long run helps save so much money

Academic Experience: Since Bakersfield College has a Nursing Program on site, it is really helpful that all the prerequisite teachers know what is going on and how to apply to the program. It is really helpful when you aren't able to get in to see a counselor quick enough and you have your professor who can tell you basically the same thing, right there for your access.

Overall Experience: It's actually a great school. It is definitely worth going here. The professors actually care if you pass or not and try to help in any way they can to get you to pass.

Overall Experience: If incould choose colleges I would choose Bakersfield College again simply because of the amazing positive support you find within processors but in students who really care for each other and are willing to stop what they are doing and help. Not only that but sjpportive exclent counselors who do not let you give up but comfort you to be strong and continue your education.I'm a single mother of 5 children who has been in college since 2012. I did not obtain my highschool diploma but did receive my G.E.D and now I'm so close to my graduation ,but I have gotten this far with all the wonderful people and staff as well as my professor's help .I love Bakersfield College and I'll never forget this experience.

Overall Experience: The professors were amazing they were so nice and always willing to help you out even if that makes them stay extra hours in their offices or in the class they were willing to help out. Not to mention the great thing about it was that the classes were very small so it was better to understand and to work one-on-one with the professors. The class was 20 to 30 students per class so it was a lot easier plus I set all the way in the front all the time to get more into the subject and do better.

Academic Experience: My major is child development. When I first started college what I wanted to be was a nurse having been in a program Academy in high school made me want to be a nurse. The Academy I was in was called health careers Academy it was a great experience I got to do a lot of hands on and it motivated me to be a nurse or be in the medical field. But starting school I decided to take a child development and since then I loved it I wanted to do that since then. Thankfully now that I am done this semester I am graduating with the child development degree hoping that great doors will be open for me when I'm done.

Overall Experience: My school was the best experience ever went through. When I first started I was really scared thinking it would be hard and the professors would be mean and cruel. As time went by I realized that wasn't it, I had amazing professors that helped me through everything and everything that I did was incredible. If you study hard do you do very well. If I could go back all over again, I would take more classes with different subjects to explore more.

Academic Experience: The Internship Program was a great on the job experience as well as the required courses were also very informative and very related to my degree in both Human Services and Psychology. The professors are also willing to go to the extremes if students need direction and advice. They find the time and resources a student might need to help them with their overall education and life experiences.
