Diversity: Azusa pacific university is extremely excepting of people who are different.

Off-Campus Dining: We have a variety of food options because we have a lot of different cultures in the area. They are all in walking distance and pretty affordable. The Thai food is the best food to try in the area as well as the Mexican food.

Scholarships: My school gives money out, but not enough to help pay for school. For the amount of donators we have for the school, they are not very helpful. Especially for those in the middle class.

Diversity: Being that I am a gay student a christian university, it is really hard to find acceptance. I am also from Hawaii so I have a lot of different ethnicities that cause me to have different economical backgrounds compared to the white students at my school. We are working at diversity, but it is really hard considering 80% of the school is white. Being gay is not easy, but being someone of color is also hard as well.

Athletics: The students are very involved with the sporting events. We have a cheer group called "the Zu" that is student run to boost moral. The athletes are very sociable and friendly and socialize with people who aren't apart of sports. The school spirit is great. We are a private Christian school, so amongst the smaller christians schools we have a lot of spirit. The Event Center where the sporting events happen is really nice and the most updated thing on campus.

Technology: People complained about the wifi, but my wifi back home was waaayy slower, so I always thought that on-campus wifi was relatively fast. It's annoying having to log onto the network every single time you turn on your computer, but you kind of just dealt with it. The school computers always took like 15 minutes just to log-on which sucked if you needed to use them to print papers right before class.

I would say it would be pretty inconvenient not to have a personal computer, but having a personal printer is convenient but not necessary.

Administration: I've never had problems with campus security. And I appreciate the fact that if you call them after the trolley-stops running they'll pick you up from West. APU is a dry-campus so obviously drinking and drug use is prohibited. Opposite-sex visitiation hours are pretty strict too. Obviously the level of strictness depends on your RA. The RA's on my floor were very hands-off, so even though the hall may have been aware of people who broke curfew or came back drunk(for example) we just figured it was their fault if they got caught. APU's pretty much a game of not getting caught. Do what you want, just don't get caught by your RA or campus security or you will get: fined, written-up, or expelled.

Athletics: Basketball and football usually have a solid number of students in attendance(and are usually the only events that "The Zu", the student spirit section, attend). Baseball would probably have the next biggest numbers, but even then that's only a handful of people. Sports are present but they aren't necessarily a big part of the school.

Intramurals are present but not really a big deal. And the facilities are pretty nice.

Pretty much athletics are only a big deal if you make it a big deal.

Party Scene: There's plenty to do in L.A.(obviously) but very little to do in Azusa(and a majority of food places are closed after 11). A lot of people either head towards the L.A. area or stay in their living areas. The living areas occasionally put on events, and there are 4 dances put on during the year. But nightlife is pretty calm mostly consisting of hang outs, movies, and dorm visits. There are parties but they are always off campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Considering there isn't too much available to eat on-campus during the weekends, off-campus places are pretty important. There's a lot of choices, Pieology, McDonalds, Applebees, Chic Fil A, The Habit, Panda...there's a couple shopping centers near the school and the choices are varied.

Diversity: APU really pushes diversity- almost to the point where it is repetitive, however I think there is a great representation of diversity on the campus and everyone feels equally involved.

Local Area: Honestly, it's my least favorite part of APU (which I know is nothing really to do with the university). People always ask "what is there to do in Azusa?" and I've never been able to provide an answer. I don't feel safe walking around at night and there is no reason to leave campus because there is nothing to do.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Such a hassle to have to park all the way on West, and being ticketed if you didn't move your car was frustrating. We're students, shouldn't we be allowed to park on our own school campus?

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: As a freshman, night life involved hanging out in dorms, I wasn't really involved in the "party scene" so I can't really answer appropriately.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Stayed in Adams, old but BEST community and ResLife

Technology: The internet is often spotty, which can be hard

Greek Life: there is no Greek Life at APU!!

Off-Campus Dining: On a student budget, off-campus food is not ideal

Athletics: Not very involved with sports, but spirit is great

Drug Safety: I honestly have never seen it used on campus at all

Academics: I feel that when it comes to academics, Azusa Pacific is fair, however depending on the classes they're not necessarily extremely challenging. That being said, the idea that college isn't about being "informed" as it is more about being "formed" is what I feel that Azusa Pacific University does an excellent job in. Azusa definitely graduates difference makers. Internship and job opportunities are catered very well to the students and really assist in preparing students for the world outside of college.

Transportation: Waiting for the actual city bus is a hassle. We take trolleys or walk to get back and forth between campuses which is nice, and campus safety allows for night shuttles to pick you up if it is too late to walk back and forth between campuses.

Diversity: There are many different types of people all over the Seattle area.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: Seattle has an abundance of life to live city style or cruise on over to the mountains for some outdoor living. It has fresh air, decadent views of mountains and lakes, and you can see it all from the city too.

2 College Freshman

Administration: If you thought a regular university was going to be strict, image that strictness times ten because that's what it's like to go to APU. Don't do drugs because there's too much to risk if you get caught. Don't park in an area where you aren't permitted to park because you WILL get a ticket.
