Campus Housing: I really enjoy living on campus for the convenience. I can leave all my books in my dorm and take only what I need to class which isn't that far if it's on East where I live. And if it's on West then I just ride my bike (or take the trolley, but I'd rather bike) and then I can come back and nap or do hw or do whatever I need to do because I live on campus. It's great.

Off-Campus Housing: Umm I'm not really too sure about this question, so I'll keep it moderate. The off campus housing is ok.

Technology: We have several computer labs which is really nice. The libraries will print things for you, but they are pricy. The place where I work at, however, will print your documents for a much lower and student discounted price which many students love. The network can be kind of slow at times, but that's understandable. And the people at IMT are great. I go there all the time for my computer issues.

Drug Safety: I put "it's great" because they are pretty strict about that stuff here. I didn't want to put it's the best, however, because I think that to some extent the students should be able to make their own decisions. And they can, but the consequences of choosing alcohol/drugs even once and getting caught are highly detrimental to your academic success. I'm most sure that you'd get expelled from APU.

Weather: We live in SoCal. That should tell you enough right there haha. We have great weather here.

Athletics: People get really spirited about games here at APU. We don't get spirited for every single game, but we do for the major ones.

Administration: Umm APU can seem pretty strict to some people especially if they came from a very lenient high school or former college. APU has an absolute zero tolerance for underaged drinking, drinking on campus (whether you're of age or not), drug use, fighting, premarital sex, and plargarism. Things like that are not taken lightly here. But if you follow the rules, you'll be fine. The visitation hours for housing arrangements can be kind of irksome at times, but they have them their for the safety and consideration of everyone on the hall/living area. And I guess the hours are pretty good, they aren't crazy and say lights out at 9pm or anything. In fact, there is no lights out curfew. Just visitation hours for the opposite sex.

Health & Safety: I definitely feel safe at APU. Campus Safety is always walking around on campus and around the blocks of both APU campuses. I feel less nervous knowing that they're around because if something happens then I know that they will be close at hand. Gang violence, student violence and drugs are not a problem here. I'm sure some kids smoke cigarettes or pot, but it's not a threat to me or other students, in my opinion. I've never seen a fight at this school and I highly doubt I will. And the dorms are safe areas, too. The only thing I'd be worried about is petty theft.

Off-Campus Dining: About average cost since they are mainly chain restaurants. Walking distance locations. Not many of the nearby locations offer student discounts.

Weather: California weather, specifically LA weather is good weather and only sunshine

Technology: The computers are pretty standard. Printing is not good because the printers and network always go down which can be very problematic when trying to hit a deadline.

Local Area: In the city itself there isn't much to do, but it is surrounded by many other cities that have a non of things to do. There are many hiking trails and several parks/roads that have rivers and waterfalls. There are many places to eat as well. It is within driving distance of popular attraction sites, like the beach, disneyland, and Los Angeles.

3 College Senior

Athletics: The athletic teams are very good at this school, but not very many students attend the home games. As far as school spirit goes, the school sells shirts and many people buy them, but not many people actually attend the games and usually the days after the games, there isn't much talk on campus about the games.

4 College Senior

Weather: There are 2 campuses that are about 15-20 minutes apart if one was to walk. The school is located right by the foothills of Azusa so during the summer it can get quite hot, especially when one has to walk from campus to campus. During the winter season, it's cool, but bearable. The weather doesn't ever interfere with any campus events, except occasionally when chapel is held outside and it rains.

Academics: Majoring the the sciences is very difficult. Students have to dedicate a lot of time to their classes because they are difficult and take time to understand. Often the closest friends that science majors have are other science majors because they always study together. Students are able to do research with certain professors either for units, volunteer purposes, or as summer jobs.

Academics: Most of the professors at this school are extremely nice and helpful and do not play favorites. I've only seen favoritism displayed in one of my classes thus far. Many professors really care about their students and even invite their classes over to their homes sometimes. This is great because it gives students the opportunity to feel united and comfortable with asking their professors and each other for help on their classwork. Many times professors become mentors for the students. The curriculum is just like any other university except biblical classes are incorporated because it is a Christian University. The registrations process isn't very bad, Usually every student gets into the classes that they need to be in because the staff accommodates for the students.

Majors: I am majoring in applied health. Previously I was a biology major, but I changed to applied health because I did not want to be taking as many biology classes. If I could do it all over again, I would have probably majored in nursing or global studies. My career goal is to become a nurse practitioner. This school has an excellent undergraduate nursing program and excellent graduate nursing programs. I would have majored in nursing because then I could have had an easier route to becoming a nurse practitioner or I would would have majored in global studies because I would have had a better understanding of different cultures, which would have been extremely helpful if I was to work throughout the world as a nurse practitioner. I do not have concerns about finding a job in my field.

Campus Quality: There aren't very many athletic centers on campus and the ones that are available are very small. It might have been okay in the past, but with the growing number of students that arrive each year, the athletic centers are now always very crowded. They are very nice and clean though, but just not spacious enough. There are two campuses and three libraries in total. The libraries are also clean and nice, but they are also quite small. It isn't uncommon for one not to find any space available to study, especially during the evening and late night hours. As far as campus traditions and events, chapel is required three times a week. Students have 7 options throughout the week and only need to attend three.

Campus Quality: The facilities are very clean and up to date because the campus is small so there isn't a lot to clean up after. There are a wide range of academic programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. As far as the social scene and campus life of this school, I would say it is very much alive. It is quite popular to be involved in many clubs and activities. It is almost as if the more you are involved in, the cooler and more popular you seem so any students partake in that. They also have intermmural sports every semester, which is really cool for people who aren't professionals in sports, but want to have fun. The school also works with many non profit organizations that accept volunteers to help out, so that's another thing that's really cool.

Overall Experience: So far I've had a very good experience at APU. It's a private school so the class sizes are smaller than non private colleges, so students have a greater chance of interacting with their professors and peers more easily than they would at public universities. This is especially helpful for students who want to get letters of recommendation for graduate school or work on special projects with professors to enhance their graduate school applications. In addition this is a Christian University so students get to learn how to apply their faith in whatever profession they will choose to occupy. In addition there are many clubs and activities that students can partake in because the school is very big on building a community atmosphere. If I could do it all over again, I would choose this school again, but I would have taken more advantage of the great opportunities that this school offers such as bonding more with my professors and getting involved in the clubs/activities on campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Everyone you are going to live with in the dorms with be the best bonds you make on campus, though campus life is kind of strict. You have plenty of room in your living space, even if your in a tripled room.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: We have the public bus, its not the best but I mean its a bus. They are saying they are putting in a metro station but I'm sure it wont be finished for a couple years. Basically if you feel like exploring azusa just walk or ride a bike or have your own car.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Azusa doesnt have much around, but what it does have is okay. most students just run across the street for yogurtland or the habit or chipotle or panda express if they want to eat off campus, though pretty much everyone eats food on campus

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: plenty of student life on campus, from campus events to clubs and student leadership. Student life is probably the second best thing about this school
