Diversity: Since this is a Christian school you will find some people who are close minded and ignorant but there are so many that are loving no matter what sexual orientation, political party, etc.

Local Area: Azusa has it's ghetto side for sure and walking around at night by yourself isn't exactly a great idea but during the day it's fine. There's a great shopping center down the street from the college with a movie theater, Ross, Styles for less, a few food places, grocery stores, etc.

Campus Housing: Living in the dorms my freshman year was great. The girls on my hall really did become like a family and I still talk with them daily. Hall bathrooms are definitely something that takes getting used to and not having a kitchen sucked a lot of the time. But my experience living in the dorms was something I will cherish.

Scholarships: This school is EXPENSIVE. $40,000 is nothing to laugh about. But there are loans and grants that you can apply for. The only problem is if you are like me and don't have parent support and need to pay for college on your own. That's when financial aid never seems to cover enough and you spend months on months emailing back and forth with the financial aid department.

Academics: The academics at apu are great. The course load is obviously harder than high school but every assignment has meaning toward your major and the professors are always willing to help out.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The psychology program is absolutely fantastic. The professors really know what they are talking about.

Campus Quality: The people at apu are probably the nicest people you will ever meet. I almost never had to open my own door because people would make an effort to open it and hold it for you. It is a very hipster school with places to leave your longboard in every dining area and it is not uncommon to see someone walking around barefoot. But overall the people at apu are genuine and the sweetest people i have ever met.

Campus Quality: Campus events and activities are always a good time. You can really tell that the school makes an effort to have lots of activities for it's students so they have an alternative to spending their friday nights in their dorm bored or partying.

Campus Food: Although all food gets repetitive if you have to eat it 3 times a day 7 days a week, the food at APU tends to lean toward being really really amazing. Mexicali is fantastic, basically a knock-off Chipotle but their breakfast burritos are to die for. The den has a great selection if you are wanting a burger, chicken strips, or a sandwich. The pizza bar is always really good with it's wide variety of pizza and calzone options. And once a week without fail we would have brisket fridays at the BBQ place. SOOO good !

Majors: Azusa Pacific is perfect if you are looking for a school that cares about it's students. The professors genuinely care about you and it is not uncommon to be invited to dinner with your professor. There is a wide range of majors for every passion. It's fantastic that I can be at a school that takes my passion and incorporates it with my faith.

Majors: The Psychology program is amazing. The work is tough but there is no such thing as busy work. The professors are always available if you have a question. Community plays a big part at APU and it is evident within the majors. I have been to Psychology chapels where I can worship alongside others in my same major and I have been a part of a Psychology Disciple Group where once a week we sit down and talk about our faith and psychology. The professors are great and really care about what they are teaching.

Athletics: Well, I don't really use them since I am a busy nerd.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: Everyone is a Caucasian Christian that likes fun.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Not enough variety but at least the quality is decent.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Surprisingly, it's not really the best neighborhood.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Too many white people that can be superficial sometimes.

Campus Quality: The most unique thing about APU is its centrality on making the individual a prepared adult more so than anything else.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: There's stuff to do for essentially everyone on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Although we do have a health clinic, it is not the best in terms of speedy coverage.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Although the food is not varied and the tuition cost kills me, I have received excellent education in a community that has encouraged my spiritual and mental growth.

Diversity: Azusa pacific university is extremely excepting of people who are different.

Off-Campus Dining: We have a variety of food options because we have a lot of different cultures in the area. They are all in walking distance and pretty affordable. The Thai food is the best food to try in the area as well as the Mexican food.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: My school gives money out, but not enough to help pay for school. For the amount of donators we have for the school, they are not very helpful. Especially for those in the middle class.

2 College Junior

Diversity: Being that I am a gay student a christian university, it is really hard to find acceptance. I am also from Hawaii so I have a lot of different ethnicities that cause me to have different economical backgrounds compared to the white students at my school. We are working at diversity, but it is really hard considering 80% of the school is white. Being gay is not easy, but being someone of color is also hard as well.

3 College Junior

Athletics: The students are very involved with the sporting events. We have a cheer group called "the Zu" that is student run to boost moral. The athletes are very sociable and friendly and socialize with people who aren't apart of sports. The school spirit is great. We are a private Christian school, so amongst the smaller christians schools we have a lot of spirit. The Event Center where the sporting events happen is really nice and the most updated thing on campus.
