College Sophomore

Campus Food: I'm a commuter and do not eat at the school.

Campus Housing: This school isn't very lively. For the amount of tuition they ask for, I was expecting an amazing school but it turns out it's below average.

College Junior

Guys & Girls: I am not physically attending school on campus. I am an online student.

Academics: I haven't been taking core classes for long, only in my second core business class now. I am attending the Averetts GPS program (online). So far it has been interesting and I have learned lots of business ethics when running a business.

College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I have never been to the Averett campus or any off-campus restaurants.

College Junior

Administration: Cannot accurately rate because I do not attend the Averett main campus. I am in their online pragram.

College Junior

Campus Housing: I do not attend the physical campus at Averett, I attend through their online program.

College Junior

Campus Quality: I am enrolled in the GPS (online) program.

College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I do not attend Averett main campus, I am a student in their GPS (online) program.

College Junior

Local Area: I am attending the online program offered at this institution and do not live in the area of the Averett main campus.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I student taught in high school and it transferred over to Averett. I was given a scholarship for it.

Diversity: There are a ton of international students

4 College Sophomore

Majors: You have to have a 3.0 in all education classes to be accepted into the one year master's program

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Yes, you get to student teach in surrounding schools

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Averett was my favorite school out of all the others I visited. Everyone is so friendly and personable. It is expensive but they are very good about giving scholarships.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: If you graduate from Averett with an education you are guaranteed to be hired in school in the community.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Professors are concerned about the students' education and there is many opportunities for tutoring if needed.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Pretty much all of the surround roads around Averett house students. Housing is cheap but most of the building and apartments are older because Averett is in a more historic part of town.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Most people are athletes, but they are not stuck up and friends with people who aren't athletes. Everyone is seriously friendly at Averett.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Some people really like the Caf but the food is repetitive. You just get used to it after awhile.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Considering Averett is a dry campus, most parties are held off campus but within walking distance. As far as clubs go, you have to drive at most 25 minutes to the North Carolina border where there are two. Danville itself does not have any clubs. Many students go to Greensboro, NC which is 45 minutes away for a bigger city nightlife atmosphere.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: If there's one thing Danville has, it's restaurants. In addition to a variety of fast food restaurants and sit down chain restaurants, there are so many local restaurants that just can't be beat in just about any type of food you can think of.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I like the elementary education program at Averett because you take classes that truly benefit your major, not classes that seem completely pointless to your future career. I chose Averett because it offers a 5 year program in where you can graduate in one year with a master's degree instead of two (as long as you're accepted into the program).

4 College Sophomore

Academics: In my experience, the advisers at Averett are so overly helpful and will spend as much time as needed with you to figure out what classes you need. Most of the professors are very helpful and will help you one on one in class or provide tutoring sessions outside of class. If not, it is free to get tutoring for any subject in the Student Success Center.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: As long as you don't go wandering around downtown Danville at night, you'll be fine. The campus is very safe and I don't know of any incidents that have taken place there.
