2 College Freshman

Local Area: This school is in the middle of nowhere. It has its own little town, but there is not much to do here. The entire atmosphere is very Catholic-oriented. The college wifi is always going out, and the college has blocked several sites, including Tumblr. However, it is a very safe campus, and the salad bar is always good. There is no Greek Life, but they do have Households (I've only heard about religious ones). Don't trust the food.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: If you don't have a car have fun being bored or look for someone who does have car

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Very small town, not much to do unless you have a car

2 College Freshman

Local Area: Very little happens in Ave Town. Few restaurants, a Publix, a gas station, and that about sums it up.

5 College Sophomore

Local Area: Ave is located in a small community. Most of the professors and their families live in the communities next to the campus.

There are things to do around the town, but Ave Maria doesn't provide too much in the way of entertainment. Students often find themselves tired of the same scenery and restaurants, so many try to find a way off campus for the weekends. In its defense, though, the University and student government do offer events for the students, and many do attend. Others, however, prefer to spend their time off campus, eventually finding themselves in Naples. Though not a major city, Naples does offer a lot in the way of entertainment, with movie theaters, clubs, restaurants, pubs, as well as other attractions, including the beaches. Naples is also home to a zoo.

If you're willing to drive about an hour and a half, you could go to Busch Gardens, a roller-coaster-heavy theme park with a zoo, souvenir shops, live performances, and great food. Disney World, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios are three to four hours away, and though that may seem like a long drive, it's definitely a worthwhile trip for a few days or spring break. A closer attraction is the Everglades, a national preserve for wildlife, including the Florida Panther. So overall, while Ave Maria itself may not be too exciting, it's definitely passable and not too far from civilization. And, if you ever want to take an exciting trip, there are fun theme parks and beautiful beaches not too far away.
