Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Get a good score on your SAT/ACT.
  • Put thought into your application essay.
  • Study and work hard in high school.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Bring bug spray or some kind of mosquito repellent. The bugs will eat you alive if you don't.
  • The academics are tough! It takes a lot of studying and hard work to maintain good grades in all your classes.
  • The requirements to get into the fine arts department are very demanding. If you want to get into the AMU Choir, be prepared, practice something long in advance, and make sure you're good at it!
  • The town is very small. It's quiet most days, but that's easily resolved with a car. Even though there are a decent number of activities happening every week, a car is still necessary if you don't want to go crazy. It's not that the town is bad, but it is small, so just bring a car if possible, and you'll be good to go.
