4 College Freshman

Administration: It helps to keep you safe.

Greek Life: Greek life is something every college should have.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Students provide great responses to their campus housing.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They're not really that strict on anything but the parking. I think that we need more parking areas or they need to be not so strict about it.. its a real hassle sometimes. Especially as a commuter.

Academics: Nursing is a very competitive major here at APSU and it keeps me on my toes and makes me want to do the best that I can so that I may be one of the students accepted into the program.

Health & Safety: We have the little "police emergency booths" everywhere but I hardly ever see the actual police unless there is an event happening on campus.

Local Area: I would like to live somewhere else better.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I'm struggling to find info.

Off-Campus Dining: I do not like the food around here.

Diversity: There are lots of white, black and Hispanic people. Asians are hard to spot however.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I've just started. Not much to say yet.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus, but a lot others do and they love it.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I filled out my FASFA and received more money than I thought I would, but I still had to take out a loan that I did not want to do. Next year, I hope to be able to pay for school without any loans. The whole process overall was easy once I got my paperwork completed.

Majors: I really enjoy my psychology class that I am in. This is the only class I have been enrolled in that applies directly to my major so far.

Drug Safety: I haven't personally seen people using drugs or alcohol on campus, but I have heard of it being done. I have also smelled marijuana in one of the residence halls before.

Campus Housing: Personally, I live in the oldest dorm hall on campus. It is not the best quality, but I guess it is a good value. Most people are commuters and they do not live on campus. This makes the weekends boring. Also, most of the food venues close on the weekends which is not a good thing at all!

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I would say that the students are pretty involved with sports, considering how good our football and basketball teams are. Our football team did not win a single game this pasts season. Our chant is "Let's Go Peay!" and all of the students really love saying it and encouraging the athletes.

Health & Safety: My friend had his truck window broken into while it was parked on campus, other than that I have not seen very many problems arise. He went to the campus police about it and they could not do anything about the problem because the perpetrator was not caught on camera. Overall, I feel safe on campus and I am a female.

Weather: The weather in Clarksville, Tennessee has been very chilly. It has been a cold winter here in general. Luckily the campus is not very big, so I am not outside for more than ten minutes at a time.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I had no trouble. I was automatically accepted, as per policy, based on my GPA.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I find that I am in the horrible place of making too much money to get most scholarships, but not making enough to be able to comfortably pay for all of my costs. I was only able to receive one scholarship, despite having a near perfect GPA, and applying for all I was eligible for. The real problem is the inadequate amount of scholarships available.

Health & Safety: APSU has its own police department. We also have emergency call stations that are lit up at night. The police will drive students to their cars if they feel uncomfortable. I feel pretty safe most of the time. The campus is immaculate and does not encourage the hanging around of questionable characters.

Overall Experience: The reason I decided to attend APSU was the fact that I had no idea what I wanted to study, my family was moving nearby, and it was a public school. It was also in a better area of town than some of the other colleges I had visited. However, I then decided that I wanted to study Art History and APSU does not have that as a major. So, as much as I love the atmosphere and history program at APSU, I probably would have attended a school that had Art History as a minor, if I had known in my freshman year what I wanted to study. Everything worked out though. I plan to continue with my Bachelor's in history and complete a master's degree in something in the museum field.

I particularly love all of APSU's cultural events, including dance and music concerts, plays, international nights, art exhibits, and the Apollo talent show.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are specific scholarships for history majors and some study abroad trips offer history classes. The workload is very heavy, but it is definitely worth it. I am able to attend some of my classes in the history and philosophy department, which shares a building with the language department and the art gallery. I am surrounded by inspiration. I plan to become a museum curator, and am taking Art History classes to prepare for that. With my degree, I can work in libraries, historical societies and homes, and universities in addition to museums.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Most of the professors clearly love what they teach and are enthusiastic about helping students to learn and develop a love for the subject as well. I find most students prefer the nursing or early education programs. They are very competitive. Students with disabilities can request assistance with tests and assignments. There are lecture series, poetry readings, and many study abroad opportunities. The registration process is quite simple. Freshman are walked through the entire process during convocation. Every semester, students must meet with their adviser to get their schedule approved.
