The dorms and apartments are great! Until a student who is paying his/her own way through college sees the cost of the cheapest dorm is as much as their tuition! This is a big reason a large percentage of students commute. Also, people who have lived or are living on campus have said "good luck..." after mentioning living on campus next semester. The distance from class is not too bad unless you live in an apartment, which are on the edge of the campus. Overall, if the prices dropped to even two-thirds of my tuition, then I would definitely consider living on campus. Until then, just like me, many others will continue to commute everyday.

The athletics at APSU are superb. The varsity sports are very well supported and there are hundreds of intramural sports in which to participate. The basketball teams are absolutely fantastic, male and female. Everyone attends games and cheers on the team for their effort. Despite the football team being mediocre at best, the school is still just as supportive of them as they are the basketball teams. Tennis and soccer games receive just as much support as other sports, which is rare in most schools. Joining an intramural sport is very recommended and respected. There are advertisements and programs everywhere for any intramural sport you could possibly be interested in. From intramural tennis to hackysack, there is something for everyone. Participating in the intramural versions of the varsity sports also gives you a lot of training, so that you might try out for the competitive version in the next season. The Foy Fitness center sponsors everything. They do all the can do get students involved and active. Regularly, the Foy offers beginner programs and incentives to participate. Overall, APSU athletics are absolutely wonderful!

Overall, the school is a very good school. Tuition isn't through the roof. I will say my best choice before registering for classes would be to go to "rate my professor." I learned the hard way by just choosing a class and completely wishing i hadnt taken the class. Its always good to hear what other people's advice is, so your able to take heed what is being told to you or your able to use that new knowledge to your advantage. Just enjoy college, its an experience in life you can't forget. Always have your grades and school work come first and you will succeed!
