Major Alumni Events
  • Golden 'Roo Weekend – event honoring the 50th reunion class during commencement weekend each year. It is heavily attended and is a good time for the reunion class to reminisce and be proud of what their school has become.
  • Homecoming – held every year in the fall, it is pretty heavily attended by both recent and older graduates. The weekend consists of picnics, a play put on by the drama department, a football game, and other alumni mingling.

  • Gene Babb – president, National Football Scouting; played for the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Oilers, and San Francisco 49ers
  • Larry Fedora – head football coach at University of North Carolina
  • David Lee "Tex" Hill – WWII Triple Ace, member of the Flying Tigers (John Wayne based his character on Hill in the movie "Flying Tigers.")
  • Ron Kirk – former mayor of Dallas and current U.S. Trade Representative
  • Candace Kita – actress
  • Ray Morehart – former baseball player, was one of the oldest surviving players to have played with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig
  • Carroll Pickett – Presbyterian minister, author, and advocate against the death penalty
