3 College Sophomore

Administration: it strict on academics, but fairly on student life

1 person found this useful Report
1 College Freshman

Administration: The administration is basically non existent, either they don't know things are going on or don't care that they are going on. Drinking and drugs are rarely cracked down on, dorm rules are never enforced. People cheat in almost all of their classes. People take drugs to study. Pledgeship was "banned" this year, but still continued the entire time. school just chooses not to do anything about it

3 College Freshman

Administration: They do what they have to do. Only problem I have is with the ruling out with the rushing program and moving of freshman dorm space to the big rooms which were for upperclassmen supposedly.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The strictness of the school on an academic stand point is very strict. They take cheating and copying or stealing information very seriously here. As for underage drinking and drug use it is taken seriously but usually handled internally and you rarely hear of anyone getting arrested or ticketed for partying.

3 College Senior

Administration: In recent years the school has become much stricter on greek groups and new member education. Apart from that, they are middle of the road. The strictness depends on the individual who enforces the rules (professor, RA, etc)

There are a lot of rules at AC. Fliers must be approved and can only be posted in certain places. The opposite sex has to be out of your room by midnight on school nights. You can't swim in the fountains. And candles and microwaves are banned from dorm rooms. Some of these can seem ridiculous, and the people in charge have a way of taking certain policies a little too seriously. Students complain about visitation rules the most, saying they're too strict and unreasonable. RAs may be your friends during the day, but if they hear a member of the opposite sex in your room or catch you drunk in the bathroom at night, they will write you up for it. Don't be fooled—AC students are not angels. They break rules all the time. The key is to not be stupid, and if you do get caught, the administration has a knack for giving good warnings.

Campus police are much more lenient than the city police would be. Campus officers are there to protect you, not get you in trouble. If you're being a belligerent drunk around campus, they'll use harsh words, but as long as you keep a semi-straight stumble going on your trek back to your dorm, you should be all right. Getting around the rules at AC is all about recalling that innocent smile you learned as a kid and exploiting it until your face hurts.

Visitation Policies
