3 College Junior

Overall Experience: The school is personalized for your needs as a student. It focuses on a lot of one on one help.

Overall Experience: After being out of school for over 18 years, it was pretty intimidating going back. But the enrollment counselors convinced me that I could do it and that they would be there for me every step of the way and they did JUST that! I'm 4 classes into the Master's program and my GPA isa 4.0. I love the individualized attention the students have with the instructors, who really do care about the students success.

Overall Experience: I really enjoyed college so far. It definitely helps to get involved; you get to meet other people that have similar goals and backgrounds to your own. AU is small compared to other schools, but this makes it easier to get to know your professors and classmates. And it doesn't take as long to walk across campus!

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I just got admitted and cannot be more pleased with how informative the staff is! I went to the first orientation and got plenty one on one attention. Everyone made me feel so welcome! The campus is very nice and it honestly puts you in a good mood. Their program choices are great.

Diversity: Diversity is big at this school but there is tension at the school based on heritage sometimes.

Academics: Biology is one of the hardest majors at the school requiring students to put in copious amount of effort into receiving a degree. Other programs in business are typically regarded as easy since most students can do it.

Academics: Much better than large scale schools I went to previously. Professors here are a level above faculty I have met from larger schools because they are focused on learning and actual information then just receiving a check like many D 1 schools.

Health & Safety: Campus safety is a recognized state police force so they can be very active on campus, compared to others with security guards instead.

Overall Experience: Professors at this school are typically of top quality, unless they are supplementing with adjunct which are usually good but may be poor. If you go to the academic chair early they can fix this issue though. Most teachers here won't hold your hand so be prepared or you will fail.

Overall Experience: Good school focused on helping you transition from high school to college. However, you need to stop acting like a kid and be an adult otherwise you will fail out...

Off-Campus Housing: Considering the school is a private school, it is not responsible for you to find off campus housing. However, many people near campus rent to students as well as lots of local apartments. However, you have to actually take the time to look since they are not provided by the campus. However, if you live off campus you have a lot more freedom.

Off-Campus Dining: If you are not stuck to a 1 mile radius to the school then there are more options than you can consider. Oswego is 10 min away with a huge variety. North Aurora/Batavia/Geneva have a lot of options too.

Party Scene: I've been to other parties at other schools and those were good if you're into rich kids trying to act like they are cool. The parties here are smaller but are more fun since they involve less strangers and more people you know.

Scholarships: If you have a good ACT/SAT score and a good high school GPA, or are an adult seeking a degree then it is easy to get financial aid. However, if you did poorly in school or didn't take it seriously then it's on you to find money, after all this is a private university not a public university so all funding comes from previous students with little government aid besides pell grants.

Campus Food: Typically well thought out menus that offer variability among food types. However, picky eaters tend to cry about not enough options when there are more than 5 options per day.
