Health & Safety

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: DPS isn't necessarily the best campus security in the world, but they will pick you up and drive you to and from the transit stations during non daylight hours which is decent. Residence Life always tells people to be vigilant and lock doors and such.

Health & Safety: It;s the best ideas I love to support this community

Health & Safety: Although my school is not surrounded by best neighborhoods or areas, I don't feel in danger. Our DPS service is always on watch and they give you rides if you have to walk alone somewhere. I don't ever walk alone at night though, that is not smart to do anywhere really. There has been some crime on campus like car break-ins, but I don't have a car on campus, and if I did I would not leave anything worth stealing in my car. Overall it is a very safe campus.

2 College Junior

Health & Safety: There is so much campus crime, I never want to leave my room when it is dark out. Even if I am still in the dorms building. There has been too much crime for me to feel safe. During my freshman year, I would receive an email about campus security thefts and alerts... I ended up getting an email every other week on just how there was a theft in the music building with an apple computer being stolen. In between the repetitive thefts, there were people held at gunpoint in the park right outside my dorm building late at night.

Health & Safety: From my international student, i appreciate DPS and how we can get a ride from them to certain locations. I regret the lack of a nurse, or any kind of medical assistance available right on campus which would be helpful without having to necessarily go to a clinic or a hospital.

DPS emails us regularly about the events that happen in and out of campus, to make us alert of the possible dangers but maybe more could be done.
