Guys & Girls: southern college town in alabama. shorts, tshirts, boots

Guys & Girls: Girls don't wear real clothes to class. It's always leggings or nike shorts, and chacos. I don't understand.

Guys & Girls: As a minority girl, a lot of the majority girls seem a little stand-offish and cliquish, but are generally friendly and some really awesome people. Beauty is a standard here, but expect a lot of sorority clones around campus (the long sorority t-shirts, nike shorts, tennis shoes, pony tails, and starbucks lattes in hand). Not many dress up outside of the "uniform", but other girls tend to dress preppy. Guys at Auburn are very attractive and are also a little stand-offish when it comes to girls outside their race (I don't know why, we minority girls don't bite lol), but they are really friendly and are called "Auburn gents" for a reason. Their momma's raised them right! They usually dress preppy and have their own "uniform" as well (button downs with either the Auburn AU or other insignia, cargo shorts or jeans, nice shoes, etc).

Guys & Girls: Auburn is a PWI, so the primary student is a rich, white, conservative. Others exist though. Athletes, come from all over. There are more Asians than black people. Auburn claims to be diverse but isn't really, we have our BSU, Muslim Student Association... etc. But auburn doesn't care to help fund our educations.

Student Author OverviewWhat's this?

View student contributors

Well, there's no question about it-students at Auburn look pretty good. And if socializing and drunken revelry is just as important to you as studying, then Auburn may be right for you. Guys and girls both generally tend to take good care of themselves by working out. On top of good looks, students at Auburn are also friendly and outgoing.

Students say that there's a variety of types of people at Auburn, so there's a person for everyone here. The friendly atmosphere makes it easy to meet others. If you're looking for a relationship or just a one-night stand, then you can make it happen if you try. Most students lean toward relationships, but there are plenty of hookups that go on.

Social Scene
Auburn students are very friendly and interactive with each other. Guys and girls love going out and having fun, so it's not hard to meet lots of people here.
Hookups or Relationships?
Random hookups and relationships are both prevalent at Auburn. Because of the largely conservative atmosphere, relationships are probably a little more common than hookups. You can make anything happen that you want to, though.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Good places to meet lots of different people are, of course, the bars, especially those close to campus. Students also like to hang out at the coffeehouses around town. Some students can even make acquaintances at the library, a popular hang out around midterm and finals weeks.
Dress Code
Fashion is important to Auburn students but not overwhelmingly so. Since an integral part of college is rolling out of bed and going to class, casual is always in. The humidity that sticks around for most of the year leaves students usually donning their T-shirts and shorts.
