Campus Housing: Living on campus after being a freshman was a hassle. Inconsistent enforcement of rules. The experience depends on where you live on campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: If you get lucky and live in the Village, its great! Anywhere else, you would do better to get an apartment.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I have toured one dorm on the campus at Auburn and it was in a great location and nicely renovated.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Quad housing is very convenient but very small and old and dirty.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It's a very nice experience with a lot of conveniences. However, it's much cheaper to find a nearby apartment with decent management.

Student Author OverviewWhat's this?

View student contributors

While students mostly agree that living in the dorms isn’t a luxury, they do say that spending at least your freshman year there is a good experience. Students with experience in the dorms claim that the Quad and the brand-new Village are the best choices, while the Hill and the Extension are not up to par.

The Quad, Hill, and the Village are mostly coed but have a few all-girl buildings. The Village is brand new apartment-style dorms and is located right on campus near the football stadium and Coliseum. If you chose to live in the dorms, make sure to apply early to ensure a spot. Dorms tend to fill up very quickly, and off-campus housing is not always a guarantee. The fight for housing in Auburn can get pretty intense.

Did You Know?
Many of the dorms on campus are named after old alumni, most of who have donated a large amount of money or made other significant impacts on the University. One dorm in particular is named after a famous Alabamian, Helen Keller.
