4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Dorms are steadily improving and there are several different dorm options and pricing for students.

Campus Housing: I got lucky and was put in the village which is the newest dorms on campus. The village is 4 individual bedrooms, 2 bath, a kitchen and living room so basically an apartment. In the village you have your own mini convince store and a dining hall and it's only a 5 minutes walk to the rec center and the stadium and a 2 min walk to the arena. Walking to main campus takes about 10-15 minutes though. In the village they also have their own mail room and tiger transit stop. The hill and the quad are the older dorms but compared to other colleges they are still nice. Each one you get to share a bathroom with either 1 other 3 other people. The quad is right in central campus so you can get up at 7:55 and make it to your 8am. The hill is a little bit more of a walk. Cambridge is north campus behind the Auburn Hotel. Cambridge used to to be the old auburn hotel so each dorm is like a hotel room. South Donahue is the nicest dorms on campus but you won't get in unless you are a student athlete or somehow just got extremely lucky.

Campus Housing: My room is in a great location and that was my priority. It is an older dorm but well maintained. Some of the newer dorms have larger rooms and bathrooms if that is a priority for your housing.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The newer places to live are amazing. However, the Hill and the Quad need to either be torn down or redone. The only good thing about the Quad is the proximity to classes, while the Hills price is the best. Prices for the village and Donahue are way to expensive for what you get.

Campus Housing: I live on the hill and they just renovated my building so its pretty nice. not only is it the cheapest option on campus but its also fairly roomy and well kept.

While students mostly agree that living in the dorms isn’t a luxury, they do say that spending at least your freshman year there is a good experience. Students with experience in the dorms claim that the Quad and the brand-new Village are the best choices, while the Hill and the Extension are not up to par.

The Quad, Hill, and the Village are mostly coed but have a few all-girl buildings. The Village is brand new apartment-style dorms and is located right on campus near the football stadium and Coliseum. If you chose to live in the dorms, make sure to apply early to ensure a spot. Dorms tend to fill up very quickly, and off-campus housing is not always a guarantee. The fight for housing in Auburn can get pretty intense.

Did You Know?
Many of the dorms on campus are named after old alumni, most of who have donated a large amount of money or made other significant impacts on the University. One dorm in particular is named after a famous Alabamian, Helen Keller.
