5 College Junior

Athletics: Sports are a huge part of campus life & the gym is amazing

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: As someone not into athletics as much as academics, I really can't speak to this. I'm assuming we have to be good though cause this town is insane with support when football season comes around.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Let's get real WAR EAGLE! Auburn sports are great and we have lots of highly ranked sports to choose from. Though everyone thinks of auburn as a football school there are lots of opportunities to experience other d1 and highly ranked sports such as equestrian, golf, track and field, gymnastics and basketball.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Football Team at AU is cheered by the whole city. Everyone at Auburn goes to the game or watches at home on the game day. I loved being part of that culture since I was in the elementary school. Best of all, AU has variety of sports that anyone can enjoy. (one of my favorites is softball)

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: A big part of Auburn is the football. However, football is not just about the game it is about joining together as a family. A few days before each game the area around the stadium becomes a tent city for tailgating. In all honesty I am not a big sports fan but I went to more sporting events than I ever thought I would. At Auburn sports are also about the students and socializing and joining together. You know it is gonna be great when a gymnastics meet has all student seats full on a Friday night.

Auburn is football, as some people say down here. Students rave about the high energy and school spirit that is displayed on game days. You don't have to worry about getting bored around here, especially if you're a sports fanatic! Attend a varsity game or get involved in an intramural sport, if that's your thing. Students promise that you'll have fun, no matter what you choose.

Just because sports are widely popular at Auburn, don't think that there isn't anything else for you to get involved in. If sports are not your thing, then there are plenty of other activities and organizations to be a part of. However, part of your tuition will go towards funding the sports on campus, so if that is not a main attraction to you, then you might want to reconsider.

School Spirit
Overwhelming! School spirit thrives in Auburn, especially during the football season. The town transforms into almost a metropolis during home games. You can even hear the roar of the crowd in the stadium from several miles away. Don't try to drive downtown on a home game day; you'll be taken over by a sea of orange and blue tailgaters and game-day attendees.
Getting Tickets
Football tickets are more difficult to get for underclassmen, but tickets to most games can be bought or sold outside of the university program, though prices may be higher. All other sports tickets are easy to get.
Best Place to Take a Walk
The Arboretum, the Quad, downtown Auburn, Chewalkla State Park
Did You Know?
