Administration: The students are in compliance and are dealt with swiftly and with fairness in situations dealing with non-compliance.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: They have almost every major you can think of except biomedical engineering which seems to be a popular pre med major.

Campus Food: Chick-fil-a??? Check. Starbucks? Check. I love the dining experience at AU

5 College Junior

Technology: College campuses that have diversity in computers (Apple and PC) deserve an award.

5 College Junior

Majors: I am expecting to enjoy my program at Auburn quite well when it beings.

5 College Junior

Majors: Relatively easy to get into the Political Science program. No extra effort other than simply submitting an application

5 College Junior

Majors: I have never held an internship. But I plan to have one next summer in a shadowing position or at a hospital of some sort.

Campus Quality: It's a big university in the middle of a small town with lots of agricultural roots

3 College Junior

Academics: Very rigid program that does not allow you to graduate early, but it prepares you well for the classroom

5 College Junior

Academics: Wide variety of courses offered and passionate professors

Drug Safety: I have never really seen a lot of drug usage at Auburn. The exception being a couple of guys using ADHD medication around finals week to help them stay awake. Alcohol is definitely more prevalent, especially football game days. A lot of students drink openly on those weekends.

Administration: Teachers and faculty are pretty lenient when it comes to almost all aspects of campus life. I don't live on campus, so I really can't comment on dorm life, but being on campus in general, I have never had any problems. As for academically, the teachers sound really strict at the beginning of the semester in their syllabus, but they are never as strict as they sound. I think a lot of this has to do with the students. I've never seen students really act out or cause a lot of problems, so there's no need for stringency.

Parking: Parking on campus can definitely be challenging. A permit runs about $60, but most of the time you have to park so far away that you have to ride a bus from the lot to campus. This usually isn't a big deal because the bus ride is fairly short, but when you are running late, that extra time can be costly. With that being said, I live off campus and there is transit that goes by my area, making it really easy to get to school without driving there.

Academics: I'm not as up-to-date about the main campus academics at Auburn University, but from what I've heard, it's a really great institution. At the College of Veterinary Medicine, the academics are amazing. At the end of next year, the CVM will be the most technologically advanced CVM in the nation. In 2007, we got a brand new large animal hospital; in 2011, we got updated classrooms that allow us to get absorb all the information we possibly can; and by the end of 2014, we will have a brand new small animal hospital. My clinical years will be amazing, just as my first year was.

Diversity: It's the south. There's not much more to say. I have a class of 120 and all but 5 are white/caucasian. 94 are women and 26 are men.

Off-Campus Housing: In Auburn, it's a big thing to live in a mobile home rather than an apartment or house. I love it! Buying a trailer increases my credit, while allowing me to sell it when I graduate to another student and get the majority of my money back. It allows me the freedom of living alone and growing up. My parents weren't so sure about allowing me to buy a trailer in the beginning, especially after living in Tuscaloosa during the tornado of 2011 and having my house shredded around me. The vet school provides a safe haven for anyone and their pets if inclement weather comes our way. Overall, I've definitely become far more mature as a young home owner, and I definitely recommend it.

Off-Campus Dining: There's a pretty good selection for students on a budget, though Tuscaloosa, where I got my undergraduate degree, has a better selection. I guess I was spoiled there.

Health & Safety: Auburn University has a great student health center that I've been to a couple times. There's barely a waiting time, and I absolutely love my doctor there.

Drug Safety: Personally I have not been around a large drug scene on Auburn's campus. The only drugs I have seen taking place, other than drinking, is weed. But, I also do not surround myself with people who do drugs, so that definitely alters my view point. Alcohol though, is very visible. Underage kids do not generally try to hide it either. Bars are known for knowingly letting underage students in, as long as their ID is real.

Greek Life: I am a part of Greek Life at Auburn, and I love it! We are so involved on campus, in our surrounding community, and with each other. It is also an awesome way to find leadership positions and make connections with alumni. I do not think that we personally discriminate non-greeks, but it is divided. Usually greeks hang out with each other, and visa versa.

Majors: I am an education major. Fortunately, senior year Auburn sets us up with a year long internship. There's no pay, and the hours are of a regular school day. I actually can't wait to start mine, seeing as it is what I want to pursue after college!

Majors: I am an early childhood major. Overall I am happy with my program. We have required classes in order to initially apply for the program, and then to get into the internship. My career goal is to eventually become a speech therapist after graduates school. My only concern would of course be finding a job. But, I feel that with both of my options, I should be able to find something sustainable.

Campus Housing: The cheapest leaving options on Campus "The Hill" is the worst it has been there for years! and needs a lot or re-vamping. The parking lots are covered with giant pot holes and it is a hassle to find parking. There are these old big back TV's in most of the dorms that student's can't use because auburn has upgraded to an HDTV system, but failed to upgrade the TV's. There is a broken foosball table in some of the dorms or nothing at all. Not really the place to hang out. Then there is "The QUAD" which is also ancient. Then The Village (for the athletes, scholarship students, rich kids, and sorority girls) and the new South Donahue dorms.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
