5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: awesome experience..but need help with tuition

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I like the fact they expect good grades

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: get to meet and make new friends

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: its is ok but room is very small and MOLD is all over our dorm. we are growing it in our room. terrible

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There's a wide variety of houses, apartments, and off-campus dorms. Depending on the rental company that manages the property, you can have a variety of service and quality. There are plenty of places close to campus but tend to be more expensive the closer you get.

Off-Campus Dining: Great food and great prices for the most part. There is a good variety of upscale, casual, and fast food dining options close to campus.

Administration: Administration is strict in important situations like when laws or honor code is broken. It's a large school so it's hard for them to know about and handle everything so it really doesn't seem "strict" unless it needs to be.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Auburn clearly states it's scholarship eligibility and requirements and the process of applying is very easy. The scholarships are limited but it's easy enough to apply.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Very laid-back compared to most schools. There's plenty to do in terms of fraternity parties, bars, and house parties. There's not as many bars as some schools but it doesn't seem like there's a need for much more anyway.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is good but expensive and it can get old sometimes since most places have the same menu every day. Tiger Dining keeps changing up the locations and there are food trucks to keep it interesting.

Campus Housing: On campus housing at Auburn varies greatly but overall there's not a bad option. All dorms are close to class and don't have community bathrooms (you'll either share with 3 people or just 1). The nicer, newer ones (village and south donahue) are much more expensive because of the newer, better amenities but the hill and quad are great and a better price. Auburn is very straightforward with the housing process- the earlier you sign up, the more likely you are to get housing and your choice of housing at that, but it's not guaranteed.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I currently live on campus but have signed a lease for an off campus apartment and the process went well.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I love the mixture of local restaurants and chains. I do not think I have ever had a bad meal in Auburn or Opelika!

5 College Junior

Administration: Administration is mostly great and seems interested in helping students. Except in Residence Life where administration is inconsistent and unprofessional.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: I have been very thankful for scholarships and financial aid at Auburn.

College Junior

Party Scene: I do not attend parties so I am not a good person to rate this question.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Expensive, not many healthy options, not enough open on the weekends, weird/inconsistent hours, often run out of food

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Cleanliness is an issue. Parking is an issue. Parking lot is an issue.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I love the off-campus housing. They're all decently close to campus and if not walking distance, buses run to pick you up. They're clean and less expensive than living in the dorms.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many off-campus options and they're all great.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I don't really find the school as a whole to be too strict.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Make sure you completely the appropriate papers quickly. There are so many forms and it is very tedious.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Unless there's a fraternity party, which there usually isn't on the weekends, going to one of 4 bars is your only option and it can get very expensive.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a lot of pretty good options, but because there are no general dining halls where you can just grab a sandwich or make your own salad it causes students to overeat because the portions are so huge and made to taste delicious so a little fattening.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The on campus building are rundown and dirty. I cannot imagine the last time a broom was swept through the hallways and there's always something falling apart.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
