3 College Junior

Career Services: I have not tried to transfer yet, I'm still a freshman.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: my major is culinary arts, but the do not have the program at accc. So I'm taking my prerequisites at the cape may county accc and then by next semester I will be in culinary arts in mayslanding.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: there is nothing that keeps me there, to stay longer then needed is what I mean. Its like yes I seen my old friends or many people I've known but that's it.

Academic Flexibility: When it comes to classes they have them scheduled it would be either in the morning or at night. There are buses that come during those time but they come every hour to two hours, so either you get to school and hour early or and hour late.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: even though my first year was a mess, I still am going to school. I learned from my mistakes and now I understand the process and time it takes to take up courses at a college.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: there making me pay $800 for only one class last semester

3 College Junior

Campus Quality: we don't have a book store anymore, they shut it down. So, instead of keeping it open to buy and sell our books back, we would have to travel, for some its easy because they have a car. I on the other hand have to take two buses to get to mayslanding just to buy books, I found out that they do not take technology books so now I would have to sell mine on the internet when I could be using store credit to purchase my next set of books.

Academic Experience: While not all of my professors have been home runs, the majority of my teachers have very strongly supported my education. My Composition II professor challenged me to create some of the best written material of my academic career, and my mathematics professors and computer science professors have been more than happy to lecture me privately on the materials of their courses.

Academic Flexibility: The incredibly empathetic staff still surprise me. During the last Winter semester, family crises surfaced that caused me to not be available for the class I had scheduled myself for. The staff at enrollment services made the process of dropping the class stress and hassle free. This is only one of many stories I can share about

College Senior

Career Services: As an undergraduate, I cannot accurately rate this

2 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The process in order to take the classes needed for your major are very difficult. The councilors at my school are not sure what they are doing and every councilor gives me a different answer. Transferring credits will be very difficult for me especially i go out of state. The colleges i'm looking into have different requirements the ACCC has.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: I believe the online classes at my school are the same as others. Online classes are difficult in general because it's a lot of school work crammed into a shortened period of time, and you also do not get the personal experience you would in a classroom.

3 College Senior

Student Body: There are a lot of people in my school who are working hard to achieve the job or the schooling they want, including teenagers and adults. There's a wide variety of cultures in my school which i enjoy. Although there are positives, I am still attending a community college so the study body is not very lively.

Academic Experience: I am in a highly selective RN program. You need a 4.0 to get in and promptly, your GPA diminishes due to the overload of information and assignments. The faculty is very helpful, but unfortunately there have been three full-time professors who have not been able to return to the program and the school is not funding their replacement, due to an overestimation in budget for a new construction building. The facilities we use in the Atlantic and Cape May Counties are great centers for the nursing clinicals. I am very grateful to be going through this program and am confident in my education guided by my program coordinators.

Student Body: There is a very diverse population at my school, but unfortunately, it is like the real world. There is a lot of intolerance. There is voluntary segregation within the ethnic groups. A lot of people around campus do not attend classes and just hang around. There is also a larger mature community of adults that are in the process of changing career. This makes class functioning a little difficult.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are amazing professors who go beyond their required scope of practice to ensure their students are engage and successful in their courses. The Nursing Department at ACCC is passionate and dedicated to the education of the future RN's that go through the program.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: The orientation to Blackboard 9 is more complicated than it was in previous versions. There is a disconnection from professors by having the online class and there is a feeling of rejection. The discussions do not substitute for what an in-class would provide, but it is still completely functional if you don't have time for traditional college classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think I should have gotten some financial aid but my family and I worked it that I was able to leave ACCC with out any debt which I was happy about.

Academic Experience: The classes for my major were changed while I was there and I had to change my schedule. It was confusing and annoying.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: I loved most of my professors and the class sizes were great for the one-on-one attention I was looking for. I got to know quite a few new people but because it was a community college I was not looking to get into any groups or clubs.

Career Services: i dont see many post grad services but this is probably because most students use ACCC as a stepping stone and then transfer to a four year college. im sure the nursing and culinary students have more of an alumni network and help with finding a career

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: the professors i've had are very helpful. the curriculum is challenging at times but bearable. i know they offer a lot of study options and programs i just havent had a chance to explore them.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: since i commute, live so close to the school, and work two jobs i really dont get to utilize the resources on campus. however it seems like they have alot to offer for a community college.

4 Recent Alumnus

Tuition & Financial Aid: Honestly I usual get financial aid and normally don't have problems. This semester I didn't receive financial aid but i know it wasn't decided by ACCC. The people in the office are usually helpful to me but I have heard others have bad experiences with them not being willing to help or answer questions.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Teachers are very willing to help and if they aren't they always let us know about the free tutoring ACCC offers.

Atlantic Cape is a very good college for students who are not quite sure what they want to do for a future career, or who cannot afford to attend an expensive four-year college. It offers a wide variety of classes on many campuses, and the campus advisers are always willing to answer questions or guide students toward a major that will work for them. Atlantic Cape professors will prepare their students for transfer to a larger college through their lessons. Most students improve their writing, math, computer, and any other skill applied to their major before transferring junior year, which gives ACCC students an edge in their new school.

Atlantic Cape Community College is unique for many reasons. It provides students with an oppurtunity to get all of their general courses, such as math, over with at a much cheaper cost than other colleges. It gives individuals returning to school after a period of time an oppurtunity that fits with their schedule and school experiences. Atlantic Cape is an overall great school to choose because it has great teachers and a good student atmosphere no matter what age, and it is close to home and convienent.
