3 College Junior

Weather: It's very rainy in Worcester.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Assumption is a great school. I was told to go here. They don't seem to care much about my club sport or my major here, but I stay because my teacher and my coach/team are so amazing. It makes it worth it.

Athletics: The school loves their football team. That is their crown jewel. The other varsity sports do get many perks in their own right, but the intramural are probably more popular to the disdain of varsity and club sport athletes. The club sports are not seen to be sports at all by the rest of the athletic departments but they are award wining and the student athletes are hard working. Students of all athletic departments are great and put their all into their sport.

Local Area: Worcester is a nice city. The scenery is nice. There is a park down the street but Assumption's grounds are lovely enough. There are many colleges in Worcester and so the students interact a lot. The Art Museum is great and there are plenty of places to go shopping.

Technology: There are a number of computer labs on campus. If your own is having a problem you will still be able to use one of the labs or rent out a laptop in the library. The IT center here is pretty good at getting your computer running again. Printing here is in black and white only, but it is free.

Off-Campus Dining: Worcester is a large city with many great surrounding towns. There is an abundance of food options. Pretty much take your pick and it's somewhere. The prices do vary so be aware. Some places offer student discounts or if you have the WOO card here in Worcester that can be helpful.

Drug Safety: The school does a great job in educating incoming freshmen about the consequences of alcohol and drug use.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The courses aren't very challenging.

2 College Freshman

Academics: There aren't many courses offered.

Guys & Girls: The really attractive guys are either creeps or in a relationship. Kind of sucks for everyone looking for guys.

Health & Safety: The safety is good, I guess. The campus police are always present. The health isn't always present, however, the center isn't even open weekends.

Overall Experience: None of the students have any school spirit, no one is involved with campus activities at all. It seems like almost everyone goes home on the weekends, campus is pretty much dead all day Saturday and all day Sunday. It's the most boring college ever. It feels like you're still in high school, even in the classes.

Party Scene: It's not great, it's kind of monotonous.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: My major is Chemistry and I am tracking pre-med. There are a lot of people in this program making the classes hard to get into. Upper-classmen take all the available spots and the school doesn't have enough sections open for the major. The workload is hard, but "do-able". The teachers, besides Jones, are very helpful & informative.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I had never taken a philosophy course and although I was royally confused at first, I really did like the courses.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our sporting teams aren't that good. Decent soccer, football, and baseball teams though.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Good food and options considering, but still not desirable. The chicken nuggets and pulled pork is the best thing they have

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Housing lottery isn't too fun. If you get a bad pick, kiss your plans goodbye for next year. Gets slightly better as you move up in classes.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is a decent Chinese place, a Domino's, and that's about it.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: Taxis suck, even though the school has a program with them. However, there are two shuttles that run to bring students to specific areas in Worcester or neighboring cities. If your friend has a car, make sure you become their best friend.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Instead of taking away the aid when the required GPA is not obtained, the finance office gives students a provisional year to earn the GPA needed.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: We are on the snow belt and in 2012-2013 we had gotten 9 feet of snow. The campus is generally good about clearing out the snow before the 8:30am classes, but only so much can be done about ice on stairs. Expect to land on your ass a time or two.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Health services sucks. They told my friend that she had strep & it wasn't contagious. They are DEAD wrong. Another time they forgot to call my friend back with her results.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The college hot spot around here is really only Bar FX unless you are 21+ and can go to Leit's, a local bar. The club can be fun, but sometimes not worth the time and yellow taxi is VERY unprofessional, but have been getting better with more and more complaints.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Not too bad with guests, just fill out a form so they know who is on campus and where they are staying on campus. Somewhat strict about cars and parking. Will give you a ticket and will give you another if you don't move.
