5 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Everytime my family comes to visit, they insist that we go to Convo then go to Tuffys for smoothies

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Some of the Rooms and buildings could use an update, but for the most part, you are only in there to sleep.

1 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many things that you have to qualify for in order to even try and live off campus. Very strict..

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Typical chain fast food places are all around. Good for late at night when nothing on campus is open.

2 Recent Alumnus

Administration: There are a lot of rules that need to be followed. The worst would be the parking. They are very strict. Even when car snowed in theres a possibility of you getting a ticket..

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Financial aid wasn't terrible, though the cost for what you get out of the school is a little extreme.

3 Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: The parties aren't bad. If you like to hang out with a close group of friends, that option is ideal. Not many bars around.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: The food tastes great, though like anything else. The more you eat the same things over and over the less you desire it. Though it still tastes great.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: The campus is small which is nice for walking to classes. The dorms are somewhat small and a little dated compared to most dorms on state campuses.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Minimal scholarships for general students

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not much delivery aside from pizza places

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Small talk w/downtown business people is so fun

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The RAs are friends > enforcement most times

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academics are wonderful. The rigorous history/ political science program here is exactly what I was looking for.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The student involvement is huge. Almost everyone I know is apart of a sport.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The college has a great career services to help students find job opportunities.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't really go to parties. I can't give a good review. I hear their really good though.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: They are very attendant to any problems that a student has.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I'm not apart of Greek life. However, they do great things for the community and are very involved. Non-Greeks don't really are indifferent to Greeks. Its not that big of a deal if someone is in Greek life or not.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the food off-campus dining is fast food. The cafeteria has really good food, so there is no need to go off-campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great. My dorm is a co-ed dorm and very friendly. Everyone hangs out in the common room and helps each other with homework.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: The students are very friendly. Their fashion is very country-ish.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: The town surrounding the school in the immediate area is very small. But, I like the small town feel. Its what I preferred in my college search: a small College in a small town, that wasn't my hometown.

But, I'm not out in the middle of nowhere. Either an hour north or and hour south, are big cities with tons of things to do. I've been to art museums, symphonies, plays, concerts, etc.

The shopping also requires a little bit of a drive, but the bargains are worth it. It has a great shopping scene.

Majors: To be in the Ashbrook Program, you are completely immersed in a History and Political Science environment. I absolutely love it. As a major history nerd myself, I love being able to talk to people around me about the things I love so much. This was something I couldn't really do before; every usually thought I was crazy.

The workload is very rigorous. It's not so much that there are a tone of things to do but little time (although there is an element of that), its the things that we do. We don't use textbooks. We use primary sources. So instead of reading about some's thoughts on Aristotle, we read Aristotle ourselves and discuss it in class together. The Professors are amazing and actually care about the students. The facilities are wonderful. We have a whole floor of the library to ourselves that we can stay in for as long as we want. The internships/ job opportunities are abundant. Almost all of the sophomores last summer had summer interns at places lie Washington D.C.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Freshman are required to have an unlimited meal plan at Convo. You can't eat at the Eagle's Nest until your sophomore year. Overall, the food is nationally ranked but you tired of it after awhile when its your only option as a freshman.
