Online Courses: At Ashford, I take one class each five weeks. I find that the workload is a lot more tolerable. I also interact more with students in my online courses than I did in a traditional classroom.

Student Body: My class consists of all non-traditional students. We all have long since graduated high school and carried on with our lives but for some reason or another have decided now to earn our degrees. Some to further their careers and others to begin one. We will all face challenges in returning to school but we have developed a fantastic support system.

Academic Flexibility: being in an online setting is very flexible. it's nice to be able to work at your own pace

Online Courses: It's a lot easier than fighting with a thousand other students for one professor.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's a little expensive but it is to be expected

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: It's a computer screen relationship, but many of the students seem nice, or at least type like they are.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: It's hard to get in contact with people at times. To much wait time between responses.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tutition is very pricy for an online school in another state that you do not have in-person access to.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
