Online Courses: Online classes help me not be bored as other students struggle. I have always been a quick learner and I love that I can take the time to learn fast and more in each course.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the tuition should be a little cheaper as we do not receive a lot of interaction from our professors and it is not a bricks and mortar institution which has more overhead. I think the courses should not increase as they are currently slated to do. I think the courses which consist of 5 week intensive class activity should be reduced to $1050 per month for every 3 credit earning class.

Online Courses: I love the online platform though the courses are fast paced and there is a lot of written work and peer discussions. I enjoy these immensely and were it not for the flexible schedule I would be experiencing a lot of stress. A little stress is good to help you do your best, but the flexible log in and participation is the icing on the cake.

Overall Experience: I am learning a lot. And at the age of 46, I thought I had already known a little bit about most things. Now, I know that there is a lot more out there to learn.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I can not believe how much an education costs.....not just here but everywhere

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: even the teachers get involved in the discussion boards, creating a lively dialoge

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: learning how other people around the world interact and do business

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: teachers that take the time to have extra real time discussions and tutoring for those students that wish to participate

2 College Junior

Overall Experience: It was a nice thought but a true headache in experience.

2 College Junior

Career Services: It could be better there is a staff person leaving every time someone enrolls no one is ever available. An they cannot even figure out who could call a student on Saturday. Too high rate of staff turnover, to feel secure with financial documents and paper verification.

2 College Junior

Online Courses: I like the online, but teachers are much less personal or seem to care really. That is not much from what I am used to in my demographic.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I do not feel of any importance per say.

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Only had one problem & it was due to my unexpected stay in the hospital without letting the school know ahead of time of my absense....

1 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Too much money per class $1409.00 per class, $85.00 per digital material for bachelor's program.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It could be better, but I am not complaining

3 College Junior

Student Body: No problem with the students

2 College Junior

Campus Quality: For the expensive tuition the people at the school could focus more on student success and help through stressful situations, rather than focusing on the money. It would also helps if the institution would be supportive and available to the students for help. Boost morale... something.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: they are dedicated in helping you to succeed

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Online class are very dependable especially with my busy schedule.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
